The mod in TBS is way gay, like flaming, lispy, limp wristed gay. Is there a setting that can be adjusted to turn that down some?

Ok, here's the straight shot. I'll explain this so you get an idea of why this is taking a bit longer than normal "fixes". No need to read if you don't care about such things.
The system, when counting the number of posts that you have, is ending up with a few thousand less than what it says you have below your avatar. Look at your avatar... how many posts does it say, directly under it, that you have? That number comes from a database that has userdata in it, but also counts each post you make.
Now... go here (open in new tab) and what does it say you have for posts? http://www.dabears.com/xperience.php?go=achievements
My avatar says I have 16,065 posts, but that link states "
Posts higher than 5,000 (You have 12,405)". This data is from the system actually going thru the posting database and counting each of your posts.
16065 is what my user setup shows (and is most likely 100% correct). 12405 is not shown anywhere. However, 12405 is what the system counts when it actually goes thru the database and counts posts made by me. And THAT is what the system uses to actually calculate achievements. The systems count. I can change the post count in the user setup, but that won't work because the system uses the actual count to determine these things.
What this means is that "something" in the past has corrupted the database. This would explain the post COUNT being correct (different D/B), but that actual POSTS being missing. Let's just refer to this "something" as the "day we shall not speak of", and leave it at that.
I've just got to figure out a way to fix it. And I'm thinking that making the post counts into an AWARD instead of an ACHIEVEMENT. Awards can be added manually by an admin. But, am going to have to turn off any achievements that are based on post count. Probably not a big deal.

i really couldnt care less about achievements, but just a thought...maybe the "x number of posts" achievement are screwed up because when you guys switched to this board, you included our post counts from the previous boards? I seem to recall you guys going back and manually changing them or something.

Yep Jimmors, that and the "what's this button do" day both had an effect on things.

Well, just know that you all are doing a great job, and that your efforts don't go unappreciated with me or with 99.9% of the members on this message board.

Ill look into this when I get home. I am pretty sure this is because we purge old threads and posts. Otherwise our database would be well over a gig. So if the system recounts the posts currently you actual count won't match since it dies know how many posts were purged in the past..
Give me a couple of days to look into what's going on completely and we'll have it fixed one way or the other....

Yea, I've spent some time in the vBull forums. The system acknowledges the post count that you have, at all times. Unfortunatly, when you click any of the buttons (refresh post counts, apply awards, etc...) it counts "existing" posts. It doesn't seem to take into account system purges, etc...
Which is fine. I've figured out a work-around that I think is better anyway. Awards can be manually given, and they ALSO allow us to incorporate other things (DOD Branch seals, ".. of the month" awards, etc...

This AM the system is not letting me post replies without having to go back to a log in. Of course the reply is lost when I do that. It's intermittent but annoying just the same. Some of my replies are rather lengthy but that's telling you all something you already know, LOL.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
