I hear you, but at what point does it stop? If we had separate categories for every possible scenario, the forum menu would be 3 pages deep. It took a lot of consideration and conversation to justify creating the Entertainment section. Site navigation becomes a PIA when you have a ton of sub-forums too.Originally Posted by lklrlolnlilklsox

I agree BF51. The more sub forums we have it cluters up the page sort of like having excessive sticky threads.

I think if people paid more attention to where they're posting their threads it works fine as it is

exactly but the problem is some people dont believe in that
even if we did make a sub forum for clutter there is no guarantee it will be posted in that forum. If someone is craving attention they will just put it in the most active forums

I really think there needs to be a designated spot for all the damn youtubes and stupid pics, it doesnt have to be another sub forum, it could be one already out there. I just think it's rediculous that people post 5 clip threads, 3 pic threads in a matter of minutes, and all the other, actually socially significant things, get lost in the clutter they create. I know I don't speak for everyone, not even close, but it just seems there should be a place for people to watch those "viral vids" and the like. Youre point of where does it stop is well heard by me, but this actually seems like a big enough cause for seperation. Heck you guys got one for porn (which I don't agree with, but mind my own business about).
BTW, love AVS forum. Got everything I needed to know about my TV two years ago from there, and owe them big time.
That's where "mods" come in. If i were a mod, I'd make sure that person was made aware of the guidelines, or he would get some time off.
Lots of this stuff comes down to a judgment call. It's very easy to come off as heavy handed. We want everyone to be able to post what interests them, makes them laugh, cry, what ever, we just hope common sense, and common courtesy are used when posting. Sometimes, it's left to us to take out the trash, so to speak, or at least try and find a category for it.
Is it perfect?, no. Do we try our best, and take suggestions to heart? Always.
Ultimately, it's ski's call, but if it becomes a problem, maybe we'll have to look at adding a video section. The problem then arises, when someone's not happy, because your music video is in with my nutshot video......(No, your chocolate's in my peanut butter!) and then wants to subdivide the video section.

Hey, yeah. The other nice thing is that people post like 5 at a time to go along with a handful of "humorous" pic threads. Oh wait.
