It was the opening drive of the 2nd half...a FG would have made it 17-24....

But do you realistically have a hope the defense can stop them from scoring? I sure as hell didn't

At that point in the game...of course, I did...sure, we spotted them 14 right out of the gate...and we know how it ultimately ended...but at THAT moment in the game, it was not panic mode; was not desperation time...take the damn 3 points...

Rather than have our #32 run defense go to face Adrian Peterson Sunday, I'm suggesting that Tucker & the "D" boys go over and help Virginia McCaskey by mulching her leaves. The only guy on defense who should make the trip to Minny, is the guy newly converted to "D" - Devin Hester. Let's see the "D" version of "The Hester Package" unleashed in the roller dome on Sunday. It's the only thing that can save our season. And the "D" boys can clean up the yard for Mrs McCaskey.

I'm writing Larry Mayer right now to suggest this :-)

In this game? No...the 2nd half? No, they hadn't, the D hadn't been on the field yet...we got the 2nd half kickoff, we drove the length of the field and should have taken the 3 pts....it would have been a 7 point game at that point...it was stupid football not to take those points...how it finally turned out, doesn't matter...in the moment, not taking those 3 pts was a bad football...

I wanted the FG, but rewatching that, the DT blew through 2 FB's and a guard to stop Bush. It wasn't Bush's fault, but it's all but obvious that this line cannot be trusted on the goal line.

Knowing the Bears could not stop an offense comprised of any of us on the board, I agree with the trying to go for 7. If they took the 3, sure, you knock the score to a 7 point game, but you, me and everyone else watching that game knew that the Rams would march down the field to get at least a FG to bring it back to a 10 point game. Trestman knows his defense sucks ass, so he knew that the need was to get the TD every time out and hope you can hold them to a FG every time as well.

I don't know that...NOBODY knew that...I can't help but feel you are defending this decision based on the overcome of the game, not on the situation at that moment...

No, I am basing it on the pure fact that their offense had their way with our defense the first half, and that they drove the field into FG range from their own 2 just confirmed it.
