Well, without Nate, they can double CJ since he is their only real receiving threat now

With only CJ to defend, double him an stack the box. If we could slow down AP Bush should be easy.
Stafford will get >300 passing yards. Book it.

And +2 is easy. Give them a challenge

I like the optimisme, Nate is probably eating pizza duing the game.. The different between AP and Bush is that AP doesn't have a passing game like Bush does.. But yes the good thing is that the defense has been good against the run.

Not having a passing game has never slowed down AP

The defensive line needs to show up in this game. If the DL gives Stafford time, he & Calvin Johnson, will beat us. They are too good, if there is no pressure on the QB. And Bush is a solid weapon in the passing game too. The DL needs to crank it up a notch for this game in Detroit.

I know but what I'm reffering to is that the Lions offense is more scary to go up against because they can now both pass and run the game, whereas Vikings only really can run it.

To be honest I didn't think that many others than DITKA would be picking the daBears because of this fact.

Perfectly reasonable to pick Detroit. I am in a season long survivor pool, and I couldn't pick the Bears this week. In fact, I was scared to take the Chiefs, just not enough data yet. So I wimped out and played Denver.

Meh, they see that our secondary gave up a kajillion yards and a million big pass plays against Dalton/Green in week 1, against Big Ben/Brown on Sunday night (after the Steelers offense had looked like complete sh*t through their first 2 games), and they see a road test (minus Melton and with a banged-up Peanut) against Stafford and Megatron. They probably all figure that Stafford will throw for 500+ yards, with at least 200+ of those yards going to Megatron. Honestly, I could see that happening. This is going to be a bear of a game, pun partially intended.

After the first 3 games, I don't see how we can trust our safeties to cover CJ over the top (whether Tillman plays, or not). And +2 is only easy when Cutler takes care of the ball. These are the two big keys to victory for this game IMO. Plus, something of a pass rush from the front-4.

My formula for defensive success: 1-Play bracket coverage on Johnson. Peanut keeping up with him as best he can in man, rotating Conte over the top to Johnson's side of the field on every single play, much like the Giants did against Randy Moss in Super Bowl XLII. Make someone else beat you, but for the love of God, please don't surrender 175+ receiving yards to a single WR again this week. 2-Continue to blitz as much and as exotically as possible, since we already know that our DL ain't gonna apply any pressure to Stafford if left to its own device.
