Anyone watch the bengals game last night? Sanzenbacher looked pretty good, I'm not sure why we didn't hold on to him. I have a feeling he is going to make that roster and have a productive year.

I didn't like the "getting rid of Sanz" move at the time, but with the upgrades at WR that the Bears have made, it is likely that he would have been pushed off the bottom of the chart by this season. Good luck to him (Sanz).

At the time I hated it, but right now, I'm not sure he beats out Anderson so he's still at the bottom of the roster...in the end no real loss for us, even if it is a huge gain for them.

I did not watch the game, was he playing with the 1s or was he having a field day against the scrubs?

I don't think that Cutler care for the shorter guys and I always thought he was not a very good receiver. I like Anderson and Toliver better.

    So No

The only positive I saw for him last night was that he returned a punt for a touchdown in the fourth. So you know, against the scrub STs.

I do. I think he is going to be in the league a long time. He very likely won't make any Pro Bowls, but I think he can be a quality third WR and slot guy for the right team.

Yeah he was playing against "scrubs" and rookies... but he was doing exactly what he is supposed to be doing.

He reminds me a lot of Aromashodu his first time around as a Bear... everyone got all excited while he tore up preseason games and reeled in diving catches... and look who is back again trying to make an NFL roster... I like both players and respect their game. However, I "miss" neither if they go to another team and land a gig because they can't crack the roster here. That being said, the fact that players that are performing well for other teams couldn't make our roster is not really a bad thing... right?

There are always scrubs who look good against other scrubs. They rarely ever make anything of themselves. King of the scrubs is nothing to be proud of.

King of the scrubs it nothing to be scoffed at either. In 2010 the undrafted free agent Victor Cruz made some truly amazing catches in preseason and managed to make the 53 man roster before being injured. The following year he improved into the 4th WR slot when Hixon and Manningham's injuries gave him the opportunity to break out into his current role.

You might never breakout, you might never get a chance too but good preseason film will likely find you a job somewhere.

Everyone else said it better, so I'm just parroting: He was a scrub on a scrub wr corps. Barring injuries, he would never see the field with this crop. If he turns out well for them, good, but there just isn't/wasn't room for him.

It should be the goal of every team to have to cut good players. Not saying that was the case at the time, but certainly would be now.

Scrubs, shrubs he's gotta play who lines up against him. Will he tear it up vs. the ones? Probably not but I think he'll be productive. Here's a guy that can gain confidence vs. scrubs and work his way up a bit.

Before you can compete against the best, you have to beat the rest.

King of the scrubs is where that starts.
