Bear honor '63 team...

    Da Bears will be honoring the 1963 Championship team at halftime this Sunday...but sadly there will be a few face's missing from the 63 line up..

    That was the year I became a Bears fan as a kid in Urbana. Unfortunately, the Packer dynasty followed. At least we had Butkus and Sayers to entertain us while the Bears were hibernating until the Ditka era.

    I don't see why they couldn't have done a 1960's throwback jersey. Would like to see that plain white "C" on their helmets.

    Sadly, Rick Casares died Friday. He was Bears third all-time leading rusher and member of the '63 championship. He was hard-nosed fullback type of runner. Like Walter, Rick would fight you to the death for an extra yard at the end of a run. 5-time Pro-Bowl. He was a Chicago Bear in the finest tradition. I remember him well. R.I.P.
