IRVING, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys have traded tight end Dante Rosario to the Chicago Bears for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2014, according to a source, marking the third trade in as many days made by owner and general manager Jerry Jones.
    The Cowboys acquired defensive end
Edgar Jones and a 2014 seventh-round pick from Kansas City for a 2014 sixth rounder on Saturday and dealt defensive tackle Sean Lissemore to San Diego for a seventh-round pick in 2015.
Rosario signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys on June 3.
The Cowboys now have four tight ends on the 53-man roster in
Jason Witten, James Hanna, Gavin Escobar and Andre Smith.
They have a spot open on the active roster.

Well, considering his mom played collegiate volleyball at OSU and died of cancer when he was in college, you have the stereotype all wrong.

Oh, got it now. I misread 'him' for 'her'. I still didn't laugh, however. Ha ha.

Talked to a few Dallas fans & I didn't leave with a warm, fuzzy feeling about him.

Wasn't expecting much for the price but depth for the sake of a body...

I guess I'll just trust Phil on this.

Why is it that I think that we brought Rosario in at one point in Lovie's time and he didn't make the team? It doesn't seem right, but I still have the thought.

I think he had a few decent games with San Diego, IIRC. Probably nothing special but that's about all you're going to get at this stage. At least he CAN catch unlike Onobun and KDavis.

Drafting a good TE prospect should be a 3rd/4th round priority for Emery next year. As in...a KD with HANDS.

Well dallas fans really can't say too much about him because he played for the chargers last year.

I just don't understand why we couldn't find a TE at his level in free agency instead of giving up a draft pick but i trust in Emery.

They were basing it more on them choosing 3 other TEs this preseason. Short body of work, I know, but info nonetheless. However, I just heard from a solid 'boys fan who said:
I just may have had a knee jerk reaction to 'earlier reports'. lol

Well I'm glad they are cycling through scrubland and trying to address needs. JA would have been getting another DE from the arena league that we didn't need nor could make the PS.

Rosario is a nice TE, nothing great, can get open and will win matchups vs average LB's and Safety's, won't drop the ball if it hits him in the hand, won't fall down when he does catch it. He can't block well but between him and Maneri cycling through after Bennett it's not a big deal. Marginal upgrade over Adams, but for a conditional 7th rounder which could wind up being nothing(which is why the Cowboys traded him, a possible 7th is better than cutting him for nothing) he's just trying to improve the backend of the roster.

Does this mean if he plays well we give up 7th round pick if plays bad we give up nothing? If that's true sounds good to me no skin to lose here.

H-back, which is always something I desire in a third TE because of the dual depth he provides as a TE/FB.

It's a stop-gap move for depth. I'll bet the TE problem will need to be addressed properly in next year's draft.

The statement I bolded, if true, would have made him the Bears #1 TE last year.

Yep, he's the "move" TE we lost when we cut ERod. Similar size and probably a better receiver than Adams. It's no surprise because we knew they were looking to another TE.

I hope Kromer uses Rosario and Bennett in some 2-TE sets.
