If the Lions cut Scheffler, I would be all for getting the band back together. That would be a good TE package of Bennett and Scheffler. I think at that late of the game for getting cut, he'd take vet minimum to get back with Cutler and Marshall.

The band Elwood, the band!!! "I have seen the light". "Sweet Jesus I have seen the light"

Well first we need the "Kitty's" to cut him and then we need to convince him that coming here for a vet minimum is like being "on a mission from God". LOL

I just hope they have Mr. Fantastic's phone number and don't need to visit him at the restaurant again.

And now the image of Trestman stuffing his face with bread at Scheffler's place of work until he signed with the Bears just entered my head.

If the Bears manage to get Scheffler, I think Cutty could "forget" about the other TE. Bennett could fall in with the forgotten receivers when the chips are down and Cutler is looking for a familiar more comfortable option.

    Just a guess

I don't see it. He had an excellent first game, and has shown his ability to consistently make positive, physical plays with the ball in his hand. I think Trestman would value that type of player at the rough-and-tumble RB for the PS. He hasn't been healthy enough to make the team, but I would try to keep him around the PS as security.

Its a beautiful thing when soulman gets to make a reference to the Blues Brothers Movie. As long as we keep the Illinois Nazi's away from him, he may come for the Vet minimum( and 4 chickens with dry white toast). I hate Illinois Nazi's.

    Somebody gimme a beat!

That kid keeps bouncing in here every year and I swear to God if we weren't so deep at RB he'd have made the team by now. He is a hard runner but he doesn't stand a chance of taking Bush's job from him so the PS is about it. Maybe somebody will sign him off the PS if there's an injury somewhere. I still think he's good enough to play in the NFL.

I think Onobun is going to stick for a while. Trestman is going to try and be the TE whisperer now, since he is so accomplished with the QB position!! I don't think we need Tony S with Bennett here, and I don't see the team making that kind of commitment to another TE. Was also glad to see DA cut, as I think Anderson and Wilson have much more potential and age on their side. Wilson is only 20, and he has tremendous talent if he gets his head on straight. Can you believe that our WR corps could be 6'5", 6'3", 6'1", 6'3" and 6'3"? Absolutely crazy.

I'd go for that. Just think Bennett and Scheffler. Cut Weems and you get the $$$ right there.
