2 football books I highly recommend:

The autobiography of Walter Payton which is titled "Never Die Easy"

And the biography of Walter Payton by Jeff Pearlman which is titled "Sweetness: The Enigmatic Life of Walter Payton"

I also recommend the Sports Illustrated book simply titled "The Football Book" which gives a decade by decade history of the game itself and past players as well.

Nobody has taken #13 since Johnny Knox wore it have they? That's always been my favorite for a uniform whenever I could get it. I've never been the superstitious sort.

It sure didn't help Knox. I was at that game and to my dying day I'll remember that hit.

Certainly was not a lucky number for him...

Not digging Fuller wearing Hester's number at all.

I feel so bad for that guy. I liked him as a player and it's a shame his career had to end that way.

Kevin Butler's son Drew who is a punter currently has the #13 for the Bears.

It doesn't matter to me at all. I love Devin Hester and I think he'll be in the Hall of fame one day. But it's just a number. The Bears don't have enough to go around so they had to use it. No big deal.

Hopefully the good luck with the #23 continues. Jerry Azumah wore it for 7 years. Devin Hester wore it for 8 years. Hopefully Kyle Fuller can have a good career and wear for 9 or more years.

As a side note we all know the #23 has a special place in Chicago. Jordan with the Bulls. Sandberg with the Cubs. Dye/Ventura with the White Sox. Hester with the Bears.

It'll be nice to finally have a #23 who patrols Soldier Field in Navy and orange who can actually contribute on special teams AND defense.

Since we drafted a punter, that number might not be so lucky for him either.
