momentum is scoring drive after drive after drive..
I could see that, but the Rams would have marched down the field and scored either way, if the Bears took the FG or not.
Everyone but especially the Defense.
No, that's dominance.
Momentum is only as good as your next drive
Trestman for not taking care of the penalty problems.
Tucker for ruining a good defense.
Trestman for hiring Tucker.
I am sick of the Tuckered-Out Defense. Can't use the injury excuse. The guys have no clue which gaps to cover, they are out of position, they take the wrong angles, they can't tackle.
Fire Mel Tucker.
Defense and ST are down right dog shit.
That goes hand in hand though.
Defense is overly injured so ST players fill those gaps and the ST has to replace them with practice squad, off the street bums
You're too kind to the ST. They have been stinking up the field the whole season.
True, but they are getting worse
I guess you're right. I didn't think that could happen.
With new guys coming in to replace te guys moved up to cover injuries, there is no consistency on ST, and the newer guys are bottom of the barrel rejects from other teams. Sucks, but that's the hand they've been dealt. I don't blame STs for stinking the place up. I blame Tucker.
It's hard to win with this defense. Emery will need to help rebuild the defensive talent before we are competitive again.
ST has done something stupid about every game not impressed by Joe D now I see why Dallas let him go. There is absolutely no discipline on or thinking on ST.
Roger that! There were at least two touchdowns called back for holding.
The ST can't even do an on-side kick successfully. This has nothing to do with injuries. It's the coaching.
There are plenty of good choices unfortunately. The "entire D" is the obvious choice.
A) I don't what else anyone could ask of McCown. He put up another stellar performance. Guy is a baller.
B) Wish I could say the same thing about Trestman. I don't understand why this guy calls a beautiful game and moves the ball so well but then utterly melts down and brain farts deep inside the 10. It's happened over and over week after week. I actually feel MORE confident of scoring a TD from the 15 then from the 5 and that's pretty fucked up. We must lead the league and have set a record for "most fucked up plays ever run from goal-to-go". The WRs and TE dominate all day, the enemy CB commits two straight penalties, and you decide to run Bush straight ahead into one of the best DLs in the league??? Really, Marc??? Really????? How exactly do you NOT throw three straight right back at that same cornerback? Ever heard of a play action toss into the flat to Marsh or Uni? Could have walked in. I don't what his problem is but Trestman's goal line management is simply horrible. Good thing Cutler wasn't in there or he would thrown another tipped/pick over the middle from the 4. Simply pathetic.
C) Speaking of pathetic, Michael Bush did all he could to NOT score despite the Rams giving us like 27 tries at it. It wasn't a great pass but he ought to be able to catch one at his knees wide open and walk in. He also needs to be able to not lose yardage 3/4ths of the time he's handed the ball. He's sucked all year and he sucked again today. Yet, mysteriously THAT was the guy Trestman chose to go as his best option on 4th and goal???? When you have that one figured out, explain the meaning of life to me.
D) Bushrod had a tough day. He was getting schooled by Quinn all day. I'm amazed McCown didn't get killed back there.
E) The officiating was total clown school both ways. Bears penalty woes continue 2 weeks in a row. WTF were you thinking there, Steltz?
F) Conte did his best to make Major Wright look like the less expendable safety today. He got dicked more often today than a porn actress in a gangbang. Simply awful.
G) As leaky as the pass D was, it was shutdown compared to the run defense. We have mastered the art of making pretty much every RB in the league look like Jim Brown. I don't know what the finally number of yards allowed was, but that was horrifically horrible. There are no words to describe how bad our run D is. I think we are dead last in the NFL now.
H) Thanks, Mel! You're the best DC ever...
Defensive line. Total tackles:
McClellin truly sucks on run defense. It's not just that he can't get off blocks, he doesn't give a thought about edge protection at snap. He gets himself trapped inside. Maybe Tucker is calling this, but it needs to change. Our defense needs to think stop run first, then rush QB. After this performance, Bears have probably taken over 32nd place from Jags in run defense.
I give the deflated ball 2 ways, first to the Rams who ran around the Bears, more because of the bye week rest, recall Bears won their game on GB after a Bye.
2nd, on all the guys who got penalized on the Bears, self discipline key, but sometimes its bad ref calls. A lot of football action is just human reaction trying to make a play and you get called for an infraction. Its difficult your aiming at the Quarterback to make a sack and he throws the ball at the right moment and your momentum just throws you into him and your slammed for the foul. Tough calls but there ya go.
Defense missed on many plays especially in the first quarter, Rams should not have gotten those points.
Crazy red zone plays trying to score, but Rams kept the heat on stopping the score, penalties just kept giving the Bears the chances and finally got in. Offensive line needs improvement.
Just remember missing key players from injuries, I guess expect a messy game like this.
First year for Tressman, its like these games are still pre-season learning...okay.
But here we go, Bears still tied at first because Lions lost as well.
Green Bay and Vikings tied, what no extra extra innings (overtime), okay
This season is going up/down, the NFC north nobody is running away, its going to be who gets it together at the season end.
Wild win last week, goofy loss for this week, lets get it back together.
Hester deserved that score, its...awwwwdang, whadya do...
The word "containment" is foreign to Shea. He thinks that's a Tupperware product.
