The kid from Central? Man, that's pathetic.
Ya the kid from Central Mich that Angelo took in the 2nd round that never played a snap for us.
I do like the Ferguson pick as a run stuffing nose was definitely a need but he is the draft pick that makes me nervous. There are only 3 games that I could find and he looked average in 2 and really good in one. In the Arkansas and Mississippi games he seemed to get stuck on blocks a lot and seemed slow in play recognition. Also got moved off his spot more than I thought he should. Did have a few pressures. But against TCU you can see the talent. He dominated the guard/center in the run game and had 2 or 3 QB hits. So you see flashes but I think he will need a lot of work
Ctree, he definately needs work, there is a lot of polish that needs to go on there, but the pick made since b/c of the extreme upside. I think some time in a pro weight room will do him a lot of good also, not for him to lose weight, but to add even more strength.
The upside is there but I like the fact that all he'll really be asked to do is lane clog and stop the run at first. I would have liked to see Nix b/c I think he could be a 4-3 DT, but the Bears didn't see it that way so I'm fine w/that, and if that's the case, there were no other DT possible NTs I liked more then Ego.
Yeah I agree. You can't fault the pick because you can see the talent and the need was definitely there. And it looks like he can walk in on day one and clog lanes so I'm sure will get in the DT rotation while he is being coached up.
Speaking of future competition, the Ego pick speaks volumes to me about Paea.
In other words, "stay healthy and play consistently at a higher level than we have seen thus far or Fergie will have your job next season".
I love that Emery creates competition everywhere he can. Competition is good for the whole team.
*this season* I think you'll see playing time from Sutton and Ego at DT and NT this year, and Paea better play at a higher and healthier level or he'll be on the outside looking in.
I think Allen and Houston have the outside.
outside of the gates? now that's a wide 9
No way we're going to let them get outside. Tucker is a genius.
