Interesting. Sounds like they are dovering themselves. Maybe Mannelly won't be back...
Mannelly said he wants to come back, but wants to fully rehab his hip (late May, June) before he makes a final decision. I forgot he had hip surgery. That sucks at his age..
Mannelly is the oldest guy on the team ... wish we could get another like him.

The Bears on Monday agreed to terms with long-snapper Chad Rempel on a three-year contract.
The 6-2, 214-pounder spent the last 10 seasons in the Canadian Football League, appearing in games for Winnipeg, Toronto and Hamilton while also seeing time with Edmonton and Montreal. He played seven seasons with Toronto from 2006-07 and 2009-2013.
Rempel, a 31-year-old native of Alberta, Canada, who attended the University of Saskatchewan, was a long-snapper and wide receiver in the CFL, compiling 70 special-teams tackles, two fumble recoveries along with 22 receptions for 283 yards and two touchdowns.
Kinda small for the NFL isn't he?
And the roster just keeps on evolving. We won't need a draft at this rate.
Would never have had this much roster activity with JA.

Damn, that destroys my mock where we draft a long snapper in the 2nd
I was hoping for a punter in the 1st round. ...JA has my keyboard sorry.
Looks 2 be a 3 year contract. I could be wrong, just ask my wife, but it seems the writing is on the wall for Mannely. He's getting long in the tooth but IMHO he has been the best LS in the league during his time in the league. I honestly can't remember a bad snap from him costing us points ever.
It's a 3 year non-guaranteed contract because 3 years is the minimum term allowed on NFL rookie contracts. Since it's non-guaranteed, the number of years is meaningless.
Ah what the hell just move it down to the third. That's what Al Davis would have done. LOL
That's just crazy!!!!!
You want a good one, you use your FIRST pick! :10 5 135:
Yeah, the guys from Canada so he had to prove he had permanent employment before they'd issue his green card. LOL
I think it's just a precaution in case Mannelly does decide to hang it up. He says he's waiting until after he's rehabbed from his surgery to decide which won't be until July I believe so Emery's doing his Boy Scout "always be prepared" thing. Hartson probably still has the inside track if Mannelly does decide to hang it up.
Jebus, 214 lbs? I know you don't have to be huge to long snap, but that dude needs to eat some Weight Gain 4000.
Well he would be a starter so hmmmmm................
Should we trade Cutler to Houston for their 1st overall like Seaman Hook Snout suggested. (he's been demoted from Captain for conduct unbecoming a Troll) You know, just so we get the best possible one. Don't want to take a chance on some other team jumping us for him.
Maybe he can play FS too? He's got enough size for that right?
That is a hell of an idea. With a LS like that, I can just see Trestman hoisting the Lombardi. (ok, he may need a little help lifting it, but the visual is there...)
We should trade Cutler to ESPN for Tebow and then use our first round pick to get McCown back.
When I read "long snapper" I keep going back to a business dinner some years ago.....
I really nice looking, chipper waitress comes up to our table full of businessmen and introduces herself and starts to tell us the specials. Well, went with the first person iteration I guess to make it more exciting (and she did). She opens up with "And tonight I have a wonderful red snapper" Well, she kind of caught herself which gave our slow brains the time to process this and there were some polite smiles and a few smirks. I don't know how red her snapper was, but her face got plenty red. She actually walked off and came back a few minutes later kind of flustered and started over.
Still funny whenever I think about it.
Damn..... the ideas are flowing now..... I wonder if Phil follows this forum.... I'm sure he's going to want to write some of this stuff down.
