Possibly, he could, BUT Izzy has played some DT before. I just hope they don't get rid of Bass, because he showed some great upside.

Okay, how do you see the DL? Houston and Allen on the ends?

That is my thinking as well with Young in instead of Houston on passing down.

It's that or Allen/Young on the end and Houston at the DT and can play end also.

Makes me think that we might be going DB in the first round. Donald+Allen+Young+Houston+Ratliff+Collins+Bass would make a pretty sweet dline though.

No I still think you start Houston at End, but it gives great flexibility, and on passing downs our d-line should be able to get after the passer much better than last year. You slide Houston to tackle, Young and Allen at end...thats a nice pass rushing line. I think you keep Allen off the field in obvious running situations.

I've always leaned to S in the first and a versatile DL in the 2nd or 3rd. The Houston signing made me question that(DE) but then I kept hearing people say he might well play DT(he played DT, DE, OLB in Oak) so anythings possible. It might well be on running downs he and Young are starting DE w/Ratty and Paea inside, and then on passing downs Houston moving inside and Young and Allen on the outside.

But Throwing a Donald in there and ya it gets REAL sick, just not sure it needs to be more sick compared to having a legit safety who can now take advantage of the DL instead of just looking good b/c of the DL.

The Allen deal is only guaranteed through 2 years. Boom! Great job Emery!

I agree Butkus. Houston can play anywhere across the DL. It will be very interesting to see what we do in Rd 1. I still hope we take Donald if he's still there, but safety if he's gone. JHMO.
