Per @BradBiggs twitter account the Bears informed Onobun he will be released soon.

So I'm sure many of you are upset that there will be no "Feni Onobun Package" this season.

Well with Cinnabon gone maybe the waiver wire or CFL will bring something better. At least they know when to cut bait.

Is it too late to give JerMichael Finley a look? Or do we have someone else on the roster? Not gonna lie, I checked out on the roster for the most part after the draft

I was beginning to think I was stupid. I couldn't figure out why we would want a TE who couldn't block or catch a football. But I kept thinking maybe Mike Tice had left some of his pixie dust at Halas Hall and they were planning some magic thing with Fendi.

I feel bad for Onobun, but glad for the Bears. Let's get a guy who can actually play football. I'm tired of these guys with "measureables" who can't play the game.

R.I.P. to Mr Stonehands. We hardly knew ye.

Before this thread gets out of hand, signing Jermichael Finley or Dustin Keller is not the way to go.

The Bears are better off going with what they have or signing someone who gets released for competition later on.

Right now the backups on the roster are:

    Dante Rosario
    Matthew Mulligan
Zach Miller (the one from Jax not Sea)

Fendi Onabun is now Fendi Onabus - out of town.

Hopefully one of the other TEs step up and/or we can pick up decent depth from some other loaded team.

It's so much nicer worrying about the number 2 TE then whether our #1 TE can catch a ball in the red zone or for that matter anywhere.

This is not the end for Fendi. He will not rest until he has tried out with all 32 teams. He's a quarter of the way there.

On a serious note, I understand that. But I do believe it is important to understand (and Ric I know that you do understand this too) that just because it's worked before, it doesn't necessarily mean you can just go out and grab any college basketball guy and expect him to be solid in the NFL. If only it were that simple.

Oh maaaaaan... I just about to work up 50 puchlines with his name for the upcoming season.

(Maybe I can sell them to the next team that signs him.) :10 1 9[1]:

From Rics article about mini workouts :

Returned for six: Two drops on offense led to picks for the defense — undrafted rookie corner Al Louis-Jean got a pick-six off a Fendi Onobun drop and Demontre Hurst intercepted a pass that was tipped, then went in and out of Micheal Spurlock’s hands.

    What a shocker.

Can't we just trade for Cincinnati's Tyler Eifert?

The only surprise in this for me was that it happened in June instead of August. Read the guy was brutal bad in mini-camp so there ya go, No loss.

Now get on with cutting Jerrod Johnson who has zero chance to make the team anyway and start looking over other teams releases for someone that actually might be able to play NFL football in some capacity.

oh no it's really fairly rare, but there is a reason they were giving him every chance, and why they weren't so worried about the years and teams he'd been on previously, and why another team will probably pick him up to give him another shot.
