Here we go fellas. We have been waiting nine months for this.

Last year we were 12 minutes from winning the division leading GB 28-20 before the visitors rallied to win 33-28. Now it's time to take back the NFC North!

We have talent on both sides of the ball, we just need to be smart and consistent.

Bear Down my friends - the road to Arizona starts today! :woot:

Feel free to use this game day thread for real time discussion with the rest of us Sunday slackers.

Are you guys ready for some Football?!

    Go Bears!!!

BUFFALO BILLS (0-0) AT CHICAGO BEARS (0-0)

Noon CT Sunday at Soldier Field on FOX
    QuarterbackAdvantage
Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is the franchise leader in career passer-rating (83.1), completions (1,258), attempts (2,090), passing yards (14,913) and passing yards per game (222.6). Cutler has 101 touchdown passes for the Bears in 67 starts since joining the club in 2009. Buffalo's EJ Manuel started 10 games last season as a rookie, throwing for 1,972 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Veteran Kyle Orton is lurking in the background. Eventually the Bills might turn to the former Bears quarterback.[IMG]
    Running backAdvantage
Matt Forte is a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2011 and 2013) who is third in the league in yards from scrimmage, rushing yards and receiving yards among running backs sine entering the league in 2008. Buffalo's C.J. Spiller (933 yards) and Fred Jackson (890) became the first Bills duo to each finish in the top 10 in AFC rushing since 1975. Spiller and Jackson were the only duo in the NFL to each top 800 yards rushing last season.[IMG]
    Wide receiversAdvantage
Chicago is loaded at receiver. Brandon Marshall has 2,803 receiving yards since arriving in Chicago in 2012, the fourth most in the NFL during that time. His 218 catches are the second-highest total in the league over the past two seasons. Alshon Jeffery had a monster 2013 season with 1,421 receiving yards. Marshall and Jeffery were voted to the Pro Bowl. Buffalo first-round pick Sammy Watkins is an electrifying talent, but he has dealt with rib issues throughout the preseason.[IMG]
    Tight endAdvantage
Bears tight end Martellus Bennett had a productive first season in Chicago with 65 grabs for 759 yards. Dante Rosario is the Bears' most accomplished reserve at the position. Scott Chandler led the Bills with 53 receptions for 655 yards last season.[IMG]
    Offensive lineAdvantage
The Bears return all five starters from an offensive line that surrendered only 30 sacks and helped pave the way for the offense to average 4.5 yards per rushing attempt. The group figures to improve in their second year together. Buffalo allowed 48 sacks. The Bills list a pair of rookies on the depth chart at right tackle.[IMG]
    Defensive lineAdvantage
Buffalo's defensive line gets after it. The starting four of Mario Williams (13.0), Kyle Williams (10.5), Jerry Hughes (10.0) and Marcell Dareus (7.5) combined for 41 sacks last season. Jared Allen, Lamarr Houston and Willie Young upgrade a Bears' defensive line that struggled in 2013. The belief is that high draft choices Ego Ferguson and Will Sutton will also be contributors at tackle, behind Jeremiah Ratliff and Stephen Paea.[IMG]
    LinebackersAdvantage
Chicago's Lance Briggs is a seven-time Pro Bowl selection on the weak side. Middle linebacker D.J. Williams is a seasoned veteran with a history of injuries. Jon Bostic and Shea McClellin are wild cards. The loss of Kiko Alonso hurts Buffalo. Alonso is the Bills' best linebacker. Brandon Spikes takes over the middle, flanked by Keith Rivers (SLB) and rookie Preston Brown (WLB).[IMG]
    SecondaryAdvantage
Bears cornerbacks Tim Jennings and Charles Tillman have been to four Pro Bowls combined. But safety is unsettled. The Bears plan to rotate Ryan Mundy, Danny McCray and Chris Conte throughout the game. Buffalo lost top safety Jairus Byrd in the offseason. Leodis McKelvin had 71 tackles last season from his cornerback spot.[IMG]
    Special teamsAdvantage
Beware of Corey Graham. The ex-Bears special teams ace signed with Buffalo in the offseason and could cause problems for his former club. Graham is one of the best coverage men in the business. It will be interesting to see if the Bills give Watkins a chance to return any kickoffs. Marquise Goodwin and McKelvin are listed as Buffalo's two primary return men. Robbie Gould leads an otherwise unproven Bears' special teams unit that scuffled in the preseason.[IMG]
    CoachingAdvantage
Bears head coach Marc Trestman went 8-8 in his first season and dramatically improved the offense. However, the defense slipped mightily, and the Bears squandered two chances to win the division outright in Weeks 16 and 17. Doug Marrone posted a 6-10 mark in 2013 for the Bills. The team added defensive coordinator and former Lions head coach Jim Schwartz in the offseason.[IMG]
    OverallAdvantage
The Bears can't afford to lose a winnable home game with five of their next seven on the road. If the offensive line can protect Cutler, the Bears should score points in bunches. Expect miscues on defense and special teams, but the Bears' roster is much more talented. Opening the regular season at Soldier Field is always a bonus.[IMG]
    PREDICTION: Bears 37, Bills 27

I notice CornWash and Bass are both starting the season on the inactive list. Somebody is going to have to get injured before they can even become activated -- much less on the field. Otherwise, they are kept in cold storage for future years.

Lets go Bears, I say, in the end we win this comfortably, at least 10 margin. The time has come

Good news for Bears' offense: Bills' CB Stephon Gilmore is inactive for today's game.

Did you actually expect CornWash to be active?

    Time for adjustments.

Stay focused, play smart. No stupid penalties!

We need more pressure from the DLine, especially Allen and Houston. Stop making trick plays, they're not working.

Is anyone really surprised that we are making the Bills this good?

I knew that it would be a close game, but overtime? Against the Bills? At home? Seriously?

That last play of the game was classic Conte run defense. He took the wrong pursuit angle and then got run over.

But my first question about this game: How much are the Bears paying Allen and Houston? These guys were supposed to be giving us a pass rush this season.

Less than Briggs who whiffed on the Bills first TD of the game
