The Chicago Bears made final cuts Saturday to reach the 53-man roster limit with linebacker J.T. Thomas, an improving player on special teams, among those placed on waivers.

They can begin building the practice squad Sunday at 10am Central time. Hope TT makes it.

Nine rookies on the 53 man roster. We were a very old team last year, so I'm glad we're reloading with some solid young talent.

9 is a lot, and I think there are a few UDFA's to boot. says a lot about the team we had last year.

Here is proof that we are not going to a 3-4.

Bad break for him that we had so many new LBs come in this year. Right now he's probably a better player than Greene but they aren't gonna cut Briggs heir apparent. I guess they feel like that had to keep DWill to and that helped ace him out to.

The move I can't see though is keeping Boggs over Thomas. Garza has no injury history so it's not very likely he'll even suit for any games and yet we keep him over a guy who shows up every game and makes plays on STeams. This one puzzles me.

JABF, Biggs reported that the team was interested in getting Tolliver to the practice squad but he wasn't among the first 7 players announced today.

I agree re: Boggs vs. JTT. Boggs should have no problem slipping through to the PS so why not keep JT and waive Boggs?

They did have to keep DJW though. No way you could go with Bostic solo at MLB and nothing behind him.

Re: Boggs v JTT. Could it be that the new coaching staff places a higher value on offensive players rather than special teams players?
