Not a surprise, but hearing Bears meeting w/Jay Ratliff's people here in Indy. Chi is also interested in bringing back K. Hayden.

I'm down w/Jay Ratliff, they could use some roughneck on that DL. Not sure what Hayden brought to the mix, but whateve. If they could get Ratliff and Melton great, if only one of them and Collins all the better, DT is set.

Why on earth do they want Hayden back??? He's from Chicago, I get that. But he's old and very average at best. Didn't Emery say they want a younger defense? Save the money and draft a young CB.

Not sure you could get Ratliff on a 1yr deal, I think he could command well more then that. Melton you maybe since he only had 1 truly good year, and the next was cut down by inj, but even at that someone might be willing to give him a go for a 2-3 year deal.

Exactly LB. We can do better than Hayden quite easily I'd think. Sign Ratliff and Collins and I'm a happy camper.

Hayden was a scrub even when healthy. Move on.

We all realize Jay Ratliff is going to be 33 years old by the time the season starts right? I really wouldn't want to give him any more than 1 year at this point, especially given the injury issues and such.

OK this is not what I remembered. Somehow I thought he 32 this year so you're right no more than a 1 year deal.

Why the hell does Melton's name keep coming up?

He is a 1 scheme, bad attitude, injured (ACL remember), one year wonder.

    Not interested.

At least Ratliff can play NT or 3 tech, and he was healthy and playing better each week last year.
