The Chicago Bears brought in eight players for workouts on Tuesday, including former Detroit Lions starting safety Amari Spivey, according to an NFL source.

NFL teams typically bring in tryout players on Tuesdays -- which is also the players' day off -- to evaluate and possibly sign if the clubs feel those players can better the back end of the roster or as a possible contingency plan for injuries down the road.

Here’s the list of players who worked out on Tuesday for the Chicago Bears:

Brandan Bishop, DB, North Carolina State

    Sean Cattouse, DB, California

    Rogers Gaines, OT, Tennessee State

Nick McDonald, C, Grand Valley State

    Chaz Powell, DB, Penn State

    Kheeston Randall, DT, Texas

    Tracy Robertson, DT, Baylor

    Amari Spivey, DB, Iowa

A strong safety, Spivey started 26 games for the Lions from 2010-12 and posted five career interceptions and seven pass breakups to go with 113 tackles.

I'd love it if the article didn't just list their college teams, but if they had played in the pros. I suppose only Spivey played pro ball, but seems unlikely.
