I guess we are in the minority on Hester, but I think he's going to tear it up this year & we'll be glad we have him.

Good point on Walters! Not sold on Pope, but maybe. Brown should be a lock.

Hester definitely needs a roster spot this year to prove that he still has it when not wasting his time trying to be a WR. Also, I think Onobun makes the roster as the #3 TE. He has been very impressive in practice, even though he had the drop in the preseason game. WR talent on this team is now very good, and I think you could see a 1,2,3 next year of BM, AJ, and Wilson. That's a lot of ability.

I think this looks good. Only thing is Costanzo is pretty much a lock. He is the ST captain so be a surprise if he gets cut. Probably taking the place of the either Allen/Ford, Hardin or JT Thomas.

Yeah, I struggled with that too. Thomas or Costanzo, not both. Perhaps my call was based more on my wish than reality.

I'd take Gabe Miller over the other 3 TE options, but his suspension leaves his immediate chances at zero. In that case, I'd say it's a fairly easy choice of Kyle Adams.

No, not to keep DA but it's possible that Anderson and Ford can replace him in all of the elements he covers.

I don't think there's any doubt that Anderson is or at least has the potential to become a far better receiver and Ford scored some points last week as Hester's backup for KR and if he can play on the coverage teams and make some tackles he and Anderson both can make the team based on that.

Together their cap cost is less than Weems and as we're struggling for cap space and trying to find depth behind key players like Hester and Bennett a two for the price of one deal has to look mighty attractive to Phil Emery right now after having to buy two QBs to hedge the bet against Blanchard being out for an extended period of time.

Trestman has said he'd like to keep three QBs so if Blanchard isn't ready for the opener one of those guys is gonna end up on the payroll as a 4th QB so we could use some breathing room and it's the fringe vets with cap costs of $1 mil and up who are gonna be on the bubble.

Not block for kicks LB. Edge rush on FGs and punts to block them.

I think Hester is gonna surprise some people and come back to earn every dollar of his deal this year. He knows his end is near and he's still after a record for total TDs from returns. He breaks that and they won't be able to keep him out of the HOF. Hester has a lot to play for this year and I believe now that his only offensive impact will come on returns he's gonna step up. He opened the game with a 45 yard return last week.

All it's gonna take is one or two back breaking returns and they'll be kicking away from him again and sacrificing field position for reduced risk. There are plays when he gains yardage for the offense without ever touching the ball and that has to be counted in as well. Ford had a nice return last week but let's not fool ourselves into thinking he's another Devin Hester.
