I know, it seems like we should be able to get a younger cheaper LS option. I love Mannely, but lord he's been in the league so long that many coaches were playing when he was. And now he's having hip surgery?

Besides I'd like to see him get a fulltime radio show gig, he's good on the radio.

I've always like him too. But after hip surgery I picture the old guy hobbling out there on his aluminum walker.

Well, he's so old that statistically we'll probably go from oldest to youngest just by him retiring alone.

I'm actually surprised he's already stated he wants to come back. If that was me and at age 30 frickin 9, and I had to have hip surgery, I would look at that as a sign to retire. And didn't he have ACL surgery lately? He must really love some aspect of the Bears and the game.

dude gets paid 6 fig's to play on punts fg's and extra points; and gets sideline to the Bears football games.....that is a SWEET gig, I'd play until no team wanted me also.

not sure dach, but all the more reason to want to stay if it is. I mean really how many punts, fg's and xp's are there in a game?

I agree about why he wants to stay. But eventually doesn't trying out a cheaper FA/UDFA as a new long snapper make sense? Especially when we need cap space for overhauling the D.

yes it does, and I'd be suprised if the team didn't look that route; unless he's considered a team leader that they don't see the need to lose, yet.
