Obviously, we need a big game from Peanut.
Maybe it's just being a Bears fan but give me Forte/Bush over Bush/Bell anyday. Best dual threat combo, get off it. Our Bush is great in the pass game, just because it doesn't happen all the time doesn't mean Bell is superior.
The Lions have a good offense and our pass defense stinks, HOWEVER that "article/blurb" made it seem as if we are preparing to play the Air Coryell Chargers on Sunday.
The only team better than Detroit at passing right now is Peyton Manning's Broncos (LINK). Stafford has spread the ball around to 11 different receivers over the last 3 games, so it's not just a 1 man show there. They have a couple of solid RB's now too. We'd better bring our "A" game Sunday or we will have a long embarrassing afternoon. And that OL better bring their "A" game too, or they'll take Cutler out in a body bag.
Detroit is a good team.
JABF, as I said, they have a good offense, but Reggie Bush ain't Marshall Faulk or Edgerrin James and Ryan Broyles ain't Wes Welker.
I understand, and your point is well taken. I'm just thinking some Bears fans think this is the Detroit of old. It isn't. Only Denver has a better offense right now (and I love what Peyton Manning is doing there).
If we win Sunday, it will be one hell of a big step for us. But I can already hear the posters on this messageboard (if we win over Detroit) talking like Detroit was not a very good team, whining about our Bears team, saying Peppers sucked, etc, etc, etc....
I wasn't trying to diss you Brad. I like your posts.
This is it for the Bears, they are done for Bears suck.
What's great about these type of articles it's about doom and gloom for the Bears. I like them much better than the ones that tell the Bears how great they are, MJ used these articles as fuel to get him going. I wish more would write like this about the Bears. We have had way too much happy and willy wonka fun stuff, time to blast them and put them in their place.
If nothing else, these articles help us have a realistic appreciation for how good our opponents are - and the challenges that they present on Sundays. These are not "easy wins" and fans need to understand this to fully appreciate that these wins are really good ones. These are anything BUT easy wins.
Still waiting for em to show up.
The D is tired from all the 3 and outs and turnovers. You can't put it on the D game after game to lead the way to victory. Its total bullshit how game after game its the offense leaning on this D to hold every game close. You can't wear out your D with an inept offense like this. The momentum shifted back time after that 2nd Cutler pick.
Agreed 100% Mr. D. Your defense can only do so much until they just crap out and today it reared it's ugly head.
1. Men against boys.
2. We're totally outclassed - offense and defense.
3. "Bad Jay" is back too. I was hoping Trestman had cured Jay. But he's still broken.
4. Long is getting beat like a drum by Suh. Long looks totally lost out there, and outclassed.
I'll tell you...I can deal with a loss. I just can't deal with repeated 3 and outs and reckless turnovers. And you just can't expect your defense to hold up when they're going back on the field, over and over like that.
Hopefully they learn from this game. And they need to work on their tackling. LBs, with the exception of Briggs, were horrible today. I'd like to see Bostic and Greene out there. Bears need a shakeup on defense. And they need a better game plan on offense. But I knew all along the Bears would lose today. Lions are a talented team and its a tough road game. We'll get them next time.
I blame JABF!!!!
If you would have said ""Charles Tillman, ‘D’ need to show up and play well" instead of "Charles Tillman, ‘D’ need to show up", we would have won.
D sucked from the start. Never could stop the run. JC just had his ass up his head ( yes I said that right) ST was there?
That's exactly how I feel about it too.
The D allowed 159 yards on 30 rushes, Chicago had 131 on 16 rushes. 3rd down effiecency for Det was 2 of 10, and they had 23 1st downs. Is that great no, but it's hardly getting chews up in comparison to what Det's Def did. If the Bears O gets 30 rushes and not 16, then Det might not get 3 picks and they might well not score 24.
Reasons for the loss:
O game plan
I too, feel the same way.
Yes the Bears do need a shakeup on Defense but the question we need to ask ourselves is that can Bostic defend against the pass? Next week we have one of the best if not the best QB in the NFL going up against us and we need someone who can defend the pass. I am willing to giving it a stab but we need to be 100% sure that we can do this.
The part that kills me is that they can look so spectacular on one drive and then put up a series of 3 and outs. UGGHH.
It's not just the D that's gonna have to show up next week. The offense is gonna have to come up big, too. We got the weapons, now it's time to see if they can be as high-powered as the Saints, Packers, and Broncos of the league.
