    Jordan Palmer, per Schefter.
How do you NOT see the problem of our offense not getting things going, earlier than the 4th quarter?

I learned that our offensive coaching staff had our backup qb much better preparedthan shea, schoop, turner, martz or tice ever dreamed of doing.

Agree Henry, our O was on the field for 7min's the entire first half, it scored on short fields and turn overs, again. Way to many punts and 3 and outs by the Cutler led O in this game.

To piggyback this comment, The Lions were able to beat us, because THEY had the short field early in the game. Our defense wasn't even playing as bad then, as it is now.

Why did the O have the ball so little? Because the other teams O had the ball the entire time Bears D can't get off the field on 3rd down.

Yeah, but the other half of that coin, is that Jay can't make a 3rd down against one of the worst defenses, to hold onto the ball longer.

I think it's clear the Chicago Bears are in transition/rebuild mode. On the bright side, a lot of young players are going to get a chance to play and gain experience. We'll find out sooner rather than later which of these young guys can play. Is it just me or is Eric Weems wasting a roster spot.

Sure, the O didn't do anyone any favors & yes, collectively the accumulated time wears on a D but that would imply the D gets tired reeeaaallly fast by the way it was playing.

Yeah its not like the defense was bad just this game. Its looked bleak all season. Still think losing two starting tackles is the blame for a lot of that. Bottom line is we scored 40+ points and lost.

Sure, the D needs to get stops when they're needed, but the O needs to sustain a drive or two early on so the D doesn't get gassed.

We must be watching a different game than others here I agree with you.

We all watched the same game. Problem is, people saw all the injuries and how poorly our offense was playing, so are making excuses for the defense. And sure, it definitely played a role...it still does not excuse how poorly they played.

Look at this way: we lost our damned Starting QB, and Trestman has his offense coached so well, that our backup QB (whom everyone hated remember), comes out, and does BETTER than Jay did, keeping us in the game. The offense dealt with adversity and losing a key player by bouncing back, where our defense? They responded by getting worse.

And as it stands now, every opponent we have faced this season has put up at least 21 points on us. So right off the bat...our offense/ST has to have a 3TD game (or 2TD and 1 Defensive TD if we are lucky), just to have a CHANCE of winning.

One stop there at the end and we win. The offense for all its ills had us the lead with a couple mins to go. I understand that Briggs and Tillman were hurt BUT one play by ANYONE (almost Bowman) and we win. Couldn't buckle down.

Jimmors, ya he lost his starting qb, he didn't lose his starting qb, 2 players off the OL, and WR and a TE.

This isn't 1 or 2 inj's, the DL is KEY to running a cover 2, and they lost the starting and backup DT. You cannot afford that and run the cover 2. The Safety's suck, they sucked last year during FA and the draft I talked about how the safeties were a problem, and people acted like I was crazy. Well guess what, the safeties suck, and I am not crazy(my mother had me tested).

The D is bad, no one is debating that. But the O does the D no favors, and the inj's have multiplied the issue.

You can say 1 stop here or there or at the end and it's a different game, I could say 1 long drive, not even a score, or another drive and a FG and the game is different also b/c the Wash O isn't on the field scoring in the 1st half.

One stop on ANY of the multitude of TD drives they had would have been enough. Washington kicked a grand total of....ONE. one FG all game.

Good comparison. We'll be lucky to hold anybody under 30 with him back there. Play the rookie. Anybody.

He's been for a long time. He should have been cut ages ago and let the position be used for a young WR or something.

One could argue that the QB is more important to the success of the offense than multiple defensive players are to the defense.

In any case...our DL has been piss poor all year. They couldnt get a pass rush when everyone (including Melton) was healthy, Peppers isnt doing shit, Shea is Casper the friendly ghost out there. Briggs is Hit or Miss. The only solid aspect of our D is tillman and jennings.

Greatest favor the offense (Hester too) did was score 41 points. Is 41 points not enough to win in this league?
