It really comes down to two questions in the CITY of big shoulders ...

do you want your kids rooting as BEARS fans ... or Cubs fans?

This is deep ... take awhile to think about it.

Remember the payback as to winning TEAMS taking it all.

What are the chances with which ?

If you were Carl Sanburg ... which option would you take given the odds ?

I sure wouldnt want my ass chased out of town after one year as a HEAD COACH.

Id be thinking more along the lines of WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?

Seriously ... Im a CHERRY at this game called NFL FOOTBALL ... Yeah ...

I got my ASS kicked when the DEFENSE folded on me.

But in the long run I am trying to make things better.

Now how in the fuck do I get a DEFENSE ?

Was the OFFENSE IMPROVED ? Well ...was the fuckin OFFENSE ... IMPROVED ?

Lets fucking be looking at POINTS SCORED ... under TWO different Quarterbacks.

So I must be doing somthing right. Man If I had A DEFENSE ... I dont know what a DEFENSE is ...

and it shows ... if I could just figure that out. And I may just may.

Dont count me out after going 8-8 in my first year. If I fuck up after this ... fire me ...

or maybe you should return because I am going to be here.

---Whoever is in charge at Halas Hall

Pnut has stated he is not switching positions that discussion ended months ago.

Blocker, but hopefully a guy that can do both

Peanut isnt getting any younger ... If a shutdown CB comes our way in the draft then why not move around some to make room for him ?

What if Peanut played 50% corner and 50% safety ? That would fuck up the opposing teams mindset as to how to play him.

Wanna know what made Urlacher good ? He never forgot he was a safety. We can label a guy one thing when he can do two things.

JJ, what part of this do you NOT understand? P-Nut is on record as saying ..."I WILL NOT CHANGE POSITIONS"; Pnut said that, if the Bears wanted him to do that, he'd walk his ass down to TB where I'm certain the new HC would welcome in a his new starting CB.

He's also a 30+ yr old FA on a D the GM has said IS going to get younger. So if CB is the way the team goes, what makes you think they are going to bring CT back?

There's only 4 true "Lovie guys" left on the D. 5 if you count Wright who's bags are already packed for him. Peppers is gone so that leaves 3. Briggs is still under contract so he stays. Of the remaining 2 (Peanut and Melton) I figure one will be kept and one let go. My gut feeling is its Melton > Tillman to stay since he's way younger and the DL is the worse problem. That's assuming he gets serious about his rehab and stops getting into drunken bar brawls of course.

Peanut is going to be a tough "nut" to crack for the good of the team. pun

Getting back to the main matter at hand ... 3 DT's are top picks, we better walk with one.

well I just read that Tillman to Lovie might be a tough sell for the Bucs, Seems like they are in a small boat with too many Captains on it much like the Bears. (I am not sure what that means either but came to my head) they have 7.5 mil cap space with 25 free agents to sign on both sides of the ball....So if Peanut gets a good deal with Lovie and Co. it will hurt the team.. An interesting Conundrum for our beloved Lovie

    OJBOB,

Lets see how this plays out ... If I was Peanut Id be looking at killing in another direction for the good of the team.

I will repeat it : 50% CB & 50% Safety for Peanut if we get Dennard at CB with a pick and thats a big if.

However secondary was never the problem ... D motherfucking Fensive Line was ...

    that was the problem.

I dont know if people quit ... or they were too old .. or this or that ...

but the fuckin problem started in the trenches ... and it spread like cancer.

BEARS next to bottom Defense can be traced to the DL.

    OJBOB,

I think we are pretty much stuck in place until the Paul Pasqueloni and Reggie Herring things work out.

We hire coaches ... they could be assigned a postition to coach ...thats new.

Seems like a different way of doing things. Sounds like we'll have a few guys with a ton of coaching experience might be a good change up or perspective.

JJ, as stated by peanut himself He. Is. Not. Playing. Saftey.

Now taking a top CB is not out of the question, but doing so would prolly mean he is not comming back.

but if he would play as saftey some problems could be solved :D

in reality, I expect him to sign for below market value and end up as a huge bargain. Bucs could easily free up some cap

I agree. But the best pure NT (Louis Nix) in the draft is coming off knee surgery and would be possibly a crap shoot. The second ranked NT (RaShede Hageman) really looks like a 2nd round pick to me. He may go in the 1st but the analyses that I've been reading use a lot of terms like "potential" and "project". Here is a sample ... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...m-dt-rashede-hageman-is-a-boomorbust-prospect ... He is a bit tall (6'6") for a true NT as well.

In the Senior Bowl practices, Donald was taking the 3# OG prospect in the draft (Cyril Richardson - Baylor) and making him look like a fool.

Hageman was reported to have had a huge Senior Bowl week; a guy on the score reported that RaShede pancaked one G in line drills w/1 hand and kept on trucking. If he continues to look like that he's not going 2nd day; and might well go before Nix.
