Maybe have the retired numbers be entered BUT they become honoured numbers and have special graphics to them whether it be a different colour or a black band through it......that way the players and fans alike know those numbers are special and deserve more respect?

Let me see if I understand this...

You mean take Payton. He was #34. It is retired.

If someone wanted to wear it, it would be a different color from the other numbers on every other jersey?

Well I don't wanna see ANYONE where 34 but if we want to honour players or have them retired for 50 yrs as was stated above, this kind of idea might be feasible.....or maybe each team can have a certain amount of legendary numbers retired and honoured.
I'm only thinking of this as a possible remedy. I love seeing the numbers or jerseys hanging and I believe the Bears should have more numbers retired but that there lies the problem of all these historic teams And the duration of their existences.
On a side note, when I get a jersey it is usually a HOF, so I don't want no Joe Smoe wearing the same thing

Problem is that would be a direct violation of the uniform guidelines

they fine you if you wear a different shoe color.... I think having something that draws your attention away from the play like 3D, holographic varied colored random numbers would bring upon an epic fine lol
