There have been a few success stories where teams have drafted basketball players and they turned into solid TE's. The problem though, is that just getting a basketball player doesn't mean the guy can be a solid NFL TE. If that were the case, then every NFL team would just go out and grab the nearest tall basketball player and consider it all good - bring on the Super Bowl. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. I keep telling myself there's a reason why Fendi is on his 6th team in 5 seasons. He seems to me to be the TE version of J'Marcus Webb - a guy with great raw athletic talent, but not a football player. But yes, he has all of the "measurables" except for the ability to catch a football. He reminds me so much of K.Davis. A guy who can look good in training camp but who folds like a deck chair in game situations. If this is what we wanted then we could have just kept K.Davis.
