I'd love to see us draft this guy. Of course I'm like a kid in a candy store right now with the upcoming draft. I want one of everything :-)

He won't be there at 14, but I'd be thrilled if he were.

I wouldn't mind Ealy early, I wouldn't mind going someone like Kareem Martin later in the draft, damn near the same size, as long as it's not another tweener DE/OLB I'll be happy.

I think he would be a great pick @ 14. We need a young Julius Peppers, as does everyone else, but maybe this kid could come close. Sign Michael Bennett & put this kid on the other side & things would be looking up!

From what I've seen, he looks in the Aldon Smith/DeMarcus Ware mold----a great pick if it pans out that well. Frankly, I think Emery whiffed badly on McClellen with Chandler Jones sitting there 2 picks later. Sometimes the obvious pick is the right pick. I'm not sure what they didn't like about Jones---the guy was a beast & I just didn't see that much in Shea M. My reaction at the time was "Phil, I sure hope you know what you're doing". Sometimes these GMs just plain outsmart themselves. .Just for the fun of it, wouldn't it be funny if some team were to sign recently released Richie Incognito & then draft Michael Sam? That should keep the media occupied.

Thinking Incognito might be scared Sam would take him up on his gestures, not to mention Incognito can not afford any more bad press. Had to respond to that though.

I was planning on responding in general and I to would like to see Ealy as a Bear. He has more upside then people in the second rd. Primarily Trent Murphy or Scott Crichton. The question I have though is his upside paired with a 2nd rd DT like long shot Aaron Donald, more likely Will Sutton, Ego Ferguson, and Daquan Jones worth more than going DT in first and getting a Jernigan or Hageman and DE like those previously mentioned. If Donald available it would be a great choice, undecided otherwise but I like Daquan Jones as my fatty in the middle.

That is for sure... I look at players like stocks. Buy low and sell high. Right now his stock is at an all time high and he has expressed an interest in staying in Seattle. Everyone out here thinks the Seakhawks are in dynasty mode and I'm sure the players have bought into it. Personally... with the modern NFL rules I think dynasties as we knew them are a thing of the past.

Got the right size and got the production to start in the NFL. There's a whole heap more than that to look at with scouting but if you've got those 2 basics you are heading in the right direction.

9.5 sacks and 14.5 tfl in what 12 games maybe? What I'd give for a DE who gives us a sack more weeks than not and a tackle for loss or two. That right there is how you wreck 2 offensive drives per game. It takes a good offense to keep drives alive after taking a sack or having a few tackles for loss and an even better one to do all that whilst the other team is putting up points with the ball.

Come on Emery and Tucker lets rebuild this front 4 at least.

I feel confident Ealy's stock will skyrocket after the combine. I'd see him as a top 10, possibly top 5 pick.

Even IF Bennett were to come here, the need for a DE is still there b/c Peppers is likely cut.

It seems like it's more important than ever, that teams maximize their success rate in the draft. This is key to sustained success in the NFL. Sure, fill in gaps with value options in FA (exactly what you mentioned, it's like stocks.....buy low, and limit the buy high players as much as possible). If a team has a rock solid scouting department and GM, then you can still have sustained success in the NFL. I'm hoping we have that kind of guy in Phil Emery. Only time will tell.
