Conte lacks in the good DB department, and that's bothersome; I don't mind that he'll be "competing" for the job, but if they do such a poor job at brining in competition that he wins then I'll be a very sad Bears fan
I'll take "What's something we've known for a while now?" for $500, Alex.
Alternate version: "What happens when your defensive line goes to shit, and an average safety looks worse than he actually is?" for $2500
my opinion is that conte is not that bad, just a tough season, he can overcome
When he fails to cover in cover-2, whose fault is that? When he takes the wrong pursuit angle on runners, whose fault is that? When he whiffs on tackles, whose fault is that? When he totally blows his assignment on the biggest play of the season in the Green Bay game, whose fault is that?
If he is still starting at safety, I'm going to be very depressed.
it is his fault, im not sure who said that it isnt!?
His blown coverage in the final game of the season is the only thing that keeps playing over and over in my mind.
He was trying to play hero and ended up lossing us the game.
I don't care if it was a man or zone coverage, the FS does not let a guy get behind him.
If he did not give us some experience or hopefully depth, I would hope they cut him.
One thing you must say for him he never gave less than full effort.
That is the GOLDEN RULE for safeties!! It doesn't get more than that. You just NEVER let that happen.
While I though to myself, maybe he's just misunderstood, like most of the defense, but then I remember all the miss tackles, and times where it appears he is just AFFRAID to tackle a guy. Almost like he's trying to avoid contact. Yeah, this guy should be on our practice sqaud at best!
I would take Adam Archuleta over him.
When he was with the Rams? Hell YEAH I would.
