Eh, unless Manning gets injured, i think Jay is going to languish there in the top 5. Peyton is pretty much a lock if he keeps up his pace.

The mancrush espn has on Peyton Manning is disturbing.

    +1

I don't even think Peyton ties his linemen's shoes. And, I'm not sure I like Manning's "body language" or his sour attitude (see pic).
On a serious note, it's nice to see Cutler get some positive attention for a change. He deserves it.

Why do fans care so much about how much press their team/players get? It just doesn't matter!

I just enjoy reading something positive about the Chicago Bears. In fact, it makes me feel better (and more positive) myself, when I open a paper on Monday morning and read about a solid Bears win, and positive stuff written about the players. It's just a "feel good" thing for me.

You know what makes me feel good? Knowing the bears are 3-0.

It doesn't matter to me if the Bears are on the front page of the sports section or get the final 10 seconds on sports center.

That's probably the best attitude to have. I do confess to getting wrapped up in the stuff they say (good or bad) about our players. I shouldn't care, but I do.

really? mvp watch 3 games into the season? what if Cle somehow makes the playoffs after trading away their best weapon(their rb) and benching their qb? Won't the rookie be in the MVP running?

What if SF continues it slide and KC makes the playoffs, won't Alex Smith be in the running; it's not like he got benched for losing or poor play in SF, he just got outplayed by the hot hand. Speaking of which, all those running qb's that took the league by storm last year...how many are looking good right now? RGIII, yikes, Colin K? Yikes, Only Wilson is on a winning team. Damn the read option looks like it died quicker then the wild cat.

Last year who had Flacco as a potential MVP or as a qb that would help his team win the SB? The Bears have started hot the last 3 years and made the playoffs 1x, yet not even a 4th into the season we got Cutler as a potential MVP? Crazy how desperate the news is for something to talk about.

I know it doesn't mean anything at all. But it is fun (for me at least) to read positive stuff about the Bears. Seems like it's been a long time since the media liked us.

I do, Benj. I know it shouldn't matter, but it's fun. One of the best years of my life was all the hoopla of the '85 Bears season. That was a fun team of characters & the sports media was loving it. Lot's of stuff to write about. It was like a season-long party. The entire city of Chicago was buoyed up in the excitement.

If nothing else, it sure beats reading all the bad stuff in the news nowadays. It's so depressing. But when I read or see something positive about the football team, it's like a breath of fresh air. No worries :-)

I may be in the minority, but I enjoy listening to and reading opinions from guys who point on the negative. They make a big deal out of what they see as flaws that home town writers/fans/broadcasters gloss over.

I live in Indianapolis, so all I usually get is colts shit shoveled down my throat; so when I can 3-5 mins of positive bears press, I eat it up. Twitter has made reading bears articles much easier too.

Actually, I do read those too. I didn't used to (used to hate that stuff), but this is probably my first year of appreciating what they "see" as problems. I just want to see if those guys are seeing what I think I see. The idiots I don't care about, but there are some writers whom I respect as knowing their stuff, and I do respect what they write, even if it's negative about the team.

But the positive stuff is more uplifting for me. More fun.

Will do, I've been around for about a year now reading...I registered once and made a few posts as coachv; but that got reset. I was on team message board for about 7 years before they shut it down.
