This ended up being the perfect bye week. Hopefully Cutler and BM, Briggs and Tillman will be 100% in 2 weeks.

That's bad news laying bets (no pun intended) he's out for the year.

They sorely needed this bye week, figuratively and literally speaking.

I don't like hearing "it could be bad" for Cutlers inj.

Yeah. It usually goes from "it could be bad" to "out for the rest of the season". Hope that's not the case.

If that happens I don't know how they get a deal done w/out JC accepting the FT or a lowball offer for a 3-4 year deal.

I have mixed emotion on this. On the human side I feel horribly bad for Jay. I'm a Jay supporter and I think if he's out for the season his time with the Bears is over as well. Not to mention possibly his NFL career.

As a Bears fan seeing what McCown did today (I know, against the weak Redskins) didn't look too bad. And that is WITHOUT Trestman working with him. With a bye week and Trestman bringing his QB magic to McCown we may have a small chance at surviving to the playoffs. That is IF the defense can do anything..

I wouldn't worry about JC, there is still a glut of teams that would pay him 50-100 mil to start...and even if not if the likes of Orton, Rex and McCown can be backups at 1mil plus, Cutler will easily command more to backup.

I don't see either of those happening though, He'll either get FT'd by the Bears or take a lower offer from them. He's not going anywhere even if he is done for the year.

I think even if Cutler had a minor injury and could play next week (if we didn't have the bye) they'd bring in Palmer for insurance just incase something went south.
