Don't get me wrong McCown looked good. I like the idea of targeting Ponder to at least work in and push McCown. It's pretty simple minny dosent want Ponder and Ponder stated publicly he wanted out. They are not going to pay a guy to be a 3rd string distraction so I think he could be had for that 6th we got for Carimi. Let him come in and work in with McCown, push him and at least be a backup. Palmer simply is not that guy.

Regarding Ponder its undeniable the kid is young and does have talent. Call me a sucker but I'm starting to buy into trestmans ability to help qbs. McCown looked vastly better (as did cutler for the most part) with him. I would love to bring him in and at least see what he can offer. Honestly don't think McCown is going to get us to the playoffs and IF cutler is in fact seriously hurt I'm not ready to just chalk it up and pack it in.

The Bears brought Palmer in to back up Mccown, why would people think the Bears wouldn't sign anybody else.

I'm just hoping Cutler's groin injury isn't a tear, maybe a real bad strain or pull where it won't keep him out of action that long.

You really want Palmer playing in the case that McCown goes down? Fact is he was brought in because he is fast and cheap. I'm sure if Emery has an chance to improve our situation he will take advantage of it. I think Emery is probably hedging his bets until the results of the MRI comes back. If he is in fact out for a serious amount of time its not unreasonable at all to think we may try to make the best of the hand we have. I don't think they will just let another season go down in flames in the 2nd half (if there are any possible moves)

I really hope so too, but the prelim reports that are out just seem very ominous.

I hope it is not a tear, but a groin and a hamstring are both injuries that can linger.

I'd call the Colts and ask what they would want for Chandler Harnish...

If his injury is what Nomar had in 05 (as Kap suggests) he is gone for the year

If he's gone for the year, that might conclude his time in Chicago.

Is Jay inury prone? I mean that hit was nothing very bad.

Maybe it was just one of those things.

You're changing the topic. It's not "how was the offensive line", it was "how often Jay Cutler gets injured", which is.....every year.

Yes, but with the number of sacks/knockdowns/hits he's taken because of the line, it's a valid point. I'll be Captain Obvious: Chances for injury increase the more the QB is hit.
