And thank you are not the two words
wow, they just choked it away
With that Lions win.... the Bears are in third place
4 turnovers and still can't win?
Geez, even the Bears could have held on last drive! Absolutely pathetic!
I guess you missed the last Bears game.
Rod Marinelli is clearly not the answer.
Hot Rod, the answer to all those that believed Tucker was the sole problem....lol.
488 passing yards by Det, 130+ rushing yards, 300+ CJ yards, 130 Bush all purpose yards...4 TO's and 1 sack. Again the Lovie system fails if you cannot create a turn over, hell even w/4 it failed....how the hell do you let CJ get 300+ yards on you????? Oh ya the classic Lovie bend and break D in full effect:
Detroit Drive Summaries

05:39204:01DET 20953Intercepted Pass
03:02304:49DET 371061Field Goal
Those highlighted #'s look familiar, 90, TD, 61 FG, 80 TD, 80 TD, 80 TD. Sounds very familiar to me, and I remember people talking about how that is all the DC's fault. Even with 4 TO's, Det had a nearly 10 min ToP, bad, bad, bad Def play.
I watched it twice. Bear defense failed to hold on Redskins last drive, but they had a ton of time and took 12 plays to score. Lions went 80 yards in a minute with no time-outs, The Cowboys worst crime on that drive was the 40-yd. pass down the sideline and get out of bounds. Give them any pass in the middle, but nothing on the sidelines. I have to admit, though, Conte would give them that pass.
You watched that thing TWICE???
Two words? Yea.. I got two words for Dallas.
But 'you' is one of the words
So that I can give better informed opinions.;)
Bears defense under Lovie was never as bad as the 2013 Dallas defense. Bears gave up average of 18.8 ppg 2010 to 2012. And if we go back to best years when Urlacher & Co.were at peak it was 12.6 and 15.9 ppg.
"Megatron" is only one word, not two.
Are you sure about that David? Are you sure?
2004 21st in yards, 13th in total points,
2007, 28th in yards 16th in total points
2008 21st in yards 16th in total points
2009 17th in yards, 21st in total points
2011 17th in yards, 14th in total points
So in roughly 50% of his time in Chicago his was in the bottom 1/2 of the league in yards, 3 of those times in the bottom 3rd, and one time in bottom 4. In 3 of those seasons he was bottom 50% in points allowed, and in 1 of those bottom 3rd.
Now tell me how Lovie and Rod are going to make this D any different then it is now? Oh it's not going to give up 500 yards to Det, 100 plus to Bush? Do tell b/c Hot Rod using that same D scheme gave up nearly 500 yards just in passing, and another 100+ in rushing, that's 600+. Problem? 1 sack. Just like in Dallas today, Lovie's system relies on front 4 pressure or it fails miserably, end of discussion. 4 Turnovers and 1 sack are not enough to keep his def system from failing b/c Stafford was upright most the afternoon delivering strikes down field. On that huge CJ play, you saw the CB do what the Chicago CB's do, try to strip the ball instead of tackle and it created a 70 yard play instead of a 15. That play was the Lovie D in a nutshell.
So tell me how Lovie's system is going to get pressure using Peppers, Wootton, Paea, Shea?
Don't talk to me about Izzy, that's a myth, he can't even find the field in Det. And don't give me that they just have to talented of a group, their front 4 need breaks just like the rest, and Izzy is capable of playing 2 positions right? So if he was good enough to find the field and be a difference maker, he'd be out there, and he's not. He's done nothing but soak up cap space, and that's all he would have done here, he'd be another Shea, getting minutes and nothing else, all he'd have done is prevent the team from looking at Corny and Bass(Bass has actually played well).
Don't talk about BU, b/c he's not here either, Emery had no want or need to pay him more then 2 mil, and BU isn't coming back for that even w/Lovie, not that BU is going to 1) stay healthy he hasn't been
healthy in years, or 2) get qb pressures so it's a moot point anyways.
Let's get back to it, Lovie isn't going to blitz LB's or CB's, he's not stunting his DL, he's going to make his front 4 beat their guys 1 on 1, which right now they are not capable of doing. So how is anything changing under Lovie and Hot Rod? Their DT and backup DT are on IR, Tillman, their best CB is hurt, Peppers their best pass rusher is old and hurt, Wootton is now playing out of position, Paea isn't there to pass rush, he's there to stop the run and take up space, and Shea is forced to start and cannot get qb pressure, let along sacks. How does any of that chance under Lovie? What are they using Tice's OL pixie dust?
You're a logical person David, use that logic to come to the very real conclusion that this has happened to Lovie in the past. see above, was it as bad as this year, no but it's not like Lovie's D was in the top 10 for the majority of his stay in Chicago, like some people would have you believe. And his D was never as inj'd or as old as it was this year.
We all see the problems on the 2013 Bears that we didn't have on the 2012 Bears. It's not just one thing. It is a combination of things, and neither Lovie nor J.C. could salvage much at this point. You have convinced me that Bear defense was a bit more inconsistent than I thought with 4 top-10 in 9 seasons in ppg (1,3,3,4). Baltimore has been much more consisitent..
I thought that you had to be torturing yourself or someone else
