Devin Hester, you. are. Ridiculous!!!
Ya good luck w/that. He's like BU last year, looking for WAY more money then anyone would even think about.
I blame Angelo for this one, once they played him as WR, they started to pay him as one, and Devin now believes that WR $$$ = KR $$$
That made my day...I needed that. That is a joke right?....right?
Hester will soon realize that isn't gonna happen, given his age and lack of kr/pr td's seems like teams don't won't to take the chance and paying big money.
i do too!
Age and returns have nothing to do with it. NOBODY is going to pay $4m for a KR. Even a HoF record breaking one.
i nearly spit my tea out onto my monitor HA
Uh huh, well good luck with that Devin. If anyone gives you more than $1 mil I'd be shocked. If you left any hint at all with Phil Emery that's what you were looking at it's no wonder he never made you an offer. It would have been a waste of breath. The days when teams paid for what a player has already done are over. Salary cap limitation mean only the future can be considered and at 32 it won't be quite as bright as it was. I'd have been happy to see the Bears offer $1 mil and maybe some bonus money for performance but $4 mil? You're out of your mind!
The poor guy. Seriously. That is delusional. Of course when he doesn't get the $4-mil per year, Urlacher can claim the Bears blackballed him & the conspiracy deepens :)
The sad thing is that Angelo probably would have paid him & Lovie could have made him our #1 WR again.
Don't forget the NFL is regulating the return position out of existence. Or at least significance. Devin won't be getting the big bucks to play a specialized position of decreased importance, at his age.
Hmmm, I wonder if DH is making a trip to Tampa. Maybe Brian should too, and get a private gig announcing for Lovie at his country club.
:bearbang:Wow, I know that Devin was never the brightest, but he is obviously not realistic either or drunk.
He's going to be looking a long time.
So if he DID get $4mil a year:
16 games: $250 per game
Each Game: $25k per touch/return (given 10 returns average)
So $25k per return? yeah, good luck! I love your talent, but I'm willing to accept that we don't return any to the house.... Goodbye..
He won't get that in 4 years, let alone one. Like Soul said, if they asked what he wanted & he said $4M a year, no wonder he's no longer a Bear.
If only the Bears had shown some loyalty...
If they really were loyal they would have offered him Cutler-type money & given him back his #1 WR job and booted Brandon Marshall.
Damn that Emery....... Urlacher will give it to him good on his next show
