Did you notice that no safeties were taken in the 2nd round and only two in the 3rd.

The talent at safety must truly be abysmal this year. I know we read that all pre-draft, but I was surprised today. None taken at all in the 2nd round, and only two in the 3rd round.

No safeties in that round but I bet we see plenty of CB conversions with teams this year.

That's b/c of how bad the class is this year. The only way to get a S this year was to draft them early, I would have been far more happy w/Pryor/Dix and then SJB then Sutton then Fuller/Ego/Sutton, but Im still okay overall with it. I'm guessing a CB/S hybrid in the 5th/6th and a RB/TE and whateve w/that other remaining pick

Ric, I think you could be right (about the hybrid pick later in the draft). I kind of hope he does that. Every year you see a position or two that are just plain weak. You see 2nd round talents going in the first round & nobody really shines. Angelo used to draft some of those guys and they were poor picks, but they were positions of need that year. A few years later they are gone from our roster.

Yeah if I'm calling shots I probably go Pryor/SJB/Sutton.. but that's just me. I'm still happy with our draft and excited to see them play. Also curious as to who we'll be picking up with our remaining picks. Any favorites for round 4?

There were none taken in round two because two rated as 2nd round picks went in one. After Ward and Bucannon the value just wasn't there. Four go in round one and not a single one of them would have ranked that high in another draft.

I think once Donald was gone we were far better off taking Fuller or Mosley than a Safety and CB was the bigger need. I'm disappointed about Donald but not Fuller over Dix or Pryor. We can either find a prospect later on or watch the waiver wire.

We are BUILDING a DEFENSE thru the DRAFT.

Not some high priced overpaid deadenders in the last gasp of their careers.

Or guys that ACTUALLY DIE before we get them ...

anybody remember a certain Tampa trade ?
