Don't feel bad about Forte's lack of yards.

Still MNF games left, but as of tonight, only 1 RB has even rushed for more than 100 yards, and Raiders QB Terrell Pryor currently leads the league in rushing:

Yes, Bears still need to work on it, but Forte's production isnt the only RB left with disappointing Rush yards after week 1.

He came close to breaking one or two but Cincy had a Safety up in the box most of the game. It was the old "we'll take away the run and force Cutler to beat us throwing" and this time he did. It worked pretty well for them in the first half because Trestman's play calling was awfully vanilla but in the second half he adjusted and made them pay.

Half time adjustments, hmmmm. I've heard of those I just don't think we've ever used them before have we?

But Forte made the two big runs he needed to make with that TD and that big first down carry late to help run out the clock. Cincy played to stop the run and they did but Cutler is starting to show what'll happen if teams do that. He played a great second half.

His total yardage was pretty close to 100, I think. BTW, Reggie Bush was playing with a strained groin, and still AP'd the Vikings...

    Forte had 50 yards.

    Not close to 100

He also had 41 receiving yards, for 91 yards from scrimmage. That's close to 100 total yards.

90+ yards and a TD, if he has those kind of averages he'll have a career year....1400-1500 total yards and 10-13TD's(he's not going to get a TD every game) would be a huge step forward for him.

Too true. Missed the word total in that post. Still sleeping when I replied.

91 total yards is good, but for a RB not sure that is great. The OL did a great job if protecting Cutler, but only opened one hole for Forte. Need to do that more often and he could have an amazing year.

Meanwhile unknowns like Jerome Simpson WR get 140 yds receiving. Its AIRBALL.

Do you realize that passing for 4000+ yds is normal ?

    Strange,

Hes the dude that could fuck over our secondary.

We can stop Peterson ... but keep this motherfucker in mind.

We can? In 10 games against the Bears he has rushed for 1,085 yards in 217 attempts (5 YPR, 108.5 YPG) and scored 14 TDs.

Unless our DL improves off of last weeks performance, he is going to have a field day

Personally not concerned with Forte's yards this early basically due to this new OL needing to gel. As long as we continue to see Trestman mixing in pass yardage to adjust for that along the way, I think we'll be fine.

Cutler stays consistent with spreading the ball/moving the chains with the right risk/reward throws, we'll see DCs backing off the LOS & opening things up for the run down the road.

B/c those best years came when he was the sole O, so he should have high numbers. You would expect that his TD's AND yards would drop some w/Marshal out there. Assume on any given game day that one of them will be the primary and the other the 2ndry. Then add in Jeffery and the Bennet's? I would expect his yards to drop, but his TD's would well be the best he's ever had, and ya w/out being the sole focus of the O anymore this would be a step forward.

The only thing we need to worry about is keeping him healthy. Except for Marshall, Forte is our best offensive weapon.

Running backs must also block and right now the screen game has been so overused in the preseason that it does not catch anyone off guard. It will be a better tool by mid season.

As others have pointed out, that was a good Defense we played, so I expect he will have better games.

Just a note on the dude what did that thing:
    Nov. 25th, 2012 One reception, 1 yard.
    Dec. 9th, 2012 One reception, 13 yards.

I know Simpson is on the rise and Percy is gone, but still Peterson will be the game plan, all day long.
