Ditto ^^^^^^^^^^ Could not agree more with you
rd 6, How about Loston SS, or Lyerla TE, or the OT from Canada
Fales QB, wasted pick
Ric, you just got your developmental QB.
Kinda makes seeing him as a 2nd round pick in lieu of Donald doesn't it?
We took a QB in six. Fales.
I don't know enough to know but I'm not a fan based on what Emery has already said. PS project only.
Well no one has gone that I wanted between Fales and our second pick so far.. so can't hate it too bad. Lets see who we grab with this 6th.
Sox called this one, a punter. Is he any good?
Bears Pick Punter Pat O’Donnell In 6th Round
May 10, 2014 3:22 PM
(CBS) – The Chicago Bears selected Miami punter Pat O’Donnell with their second pick in the sixth round.
O’Donnell was First Team All-ACC in 2013 and was Miami’s special teams MVP as he averaged 47.1 yards per punt with almost half of his punts traveling over 50 yards.
He is first punter drafted by Bears since Todd Sauerbrun in the second round of the 1995 NFL Draft.
The Bears picked O’Donnell with their second sixth round pick and the 191st overall pick in the draft.
avg'd 47.1 yards and almost 50% of his punts went over 50, I'd say he's pretty damn good.
Heh, Sauerbrun.. now theres a name I haven't heard in awhile. Remember Hester bringing two back against him and the Broncos few years back? "I don't believe it, it's unbelievable. This is unbelievable!"
I'm lovin O'Donnel, giving our team good field position is key.
Just looked at Adopt a Bear thread contest for weight guesses. My calculation shows we are at 1646 lbs drafted so far. Looks like most of us did not alot for an extra pick. Below was already tallied there so not verified by me anyway,
Guesses in order:
1431 - VJ18
1446 - yttocs
1468 - 4dabears
1570 - believe
1575 - shark
1601 - jimmors
1639 - aenir
1642 - bsbears
1647 - zifan
1650 - rakk
1653 - amiljan
1674 - tbear
1690 - ric
1699 - draw2
1700 - ski
1714 - jbunch
1736 - benji
1742 - bearstuff
1749 - darkarius
1765 - dachuck
1829 - bd425
zfan is hoping we do make that pick or trade it away for a 7th next year.
I got 1646 also, but that's weighing Sutton at 303 and not 290....should be 1633
Storm Johnson to the Jags, didn't realize he was still on the board. I feel like the the Jags had a good draft.. I dont' remember who they've picked but I remember on more than one occasion thinking it was a good choice.
This draft was so deep that it was hard not to have a good draft this year, I think you'll find most teams will get high grades. Before FA even started I heard a guy say that in most years he cannot find 7 rounds of guys that have draftable grades, he said this year he could have gone 12 rounds deep of guys w/draftable grades.
UDFA signing period is going to be a mad scramble if that's the case.
yep lot of talent will be there in UDFA a lot of older guys are going to find themselves out of the league before they were expecting it also.
yep, several reports earlier in the week that GM were already talking to agents about signing various players they liked but did not see drafting. Saw something where the agents were telling them if you like him so much then draft him. Hopefully no hurt feelings going on, I am sure the players still want a shot so should be no problem.
I would have told the agent, he's worth singing, but he's not worth drafting what part of that don't you get? Is the kid interested in our team or not; b/c if not we got about 100 other kids and 3 positions.
What's interesting is the number of MLB prospects still undrafted some like Skov were once rated as high as 2nd round picks.
Skov, Bullough, Smallwood, Jones, Coyle.
I been watching that too, Looks like some decent UDFA to choose from. Obviously many were overrated by the so called experts.
