Excellent news! He might as well be our starting RT

Emery has been busy. I was hoping Britton would be back.

LOL, beat me to it. I just read it too. I consider this good news. He's worked with the line last year and did a nice job subbing for Mills. So basically we go to camp with Brown, Britton, and Boggs as the three #2 guys at OG, OT, and OC. The killer "B's".

Good news. Now we have enough OL depth and don't need to worry when we let go Jonathan Scott.

Hopefully OT/OG James Brown will still make the team after TC.

This is great news...but why would he be our starting right tackle?

I can't remember who it was, hut someone on this board was freaking out about the number of players we had to resign this off season. Seems like that worry was all for naught...eh? No worries with Uncle Phil and his consigliere Cliff Stein on the job!

Brown is probably not making it out of camp. He and Garza are the last holdovers from Tice's era. Brown was inactive all last year. Not sure how highly Kromer thinks of a player if they are a healthy scratch all season.

I agree Britton can start at RT so in essence we have 2 starting RT returning. Amazing when all of last preseason all we could talk about is bad O-line now it's D-line's turn. I see the light Phil. Hallelujah!

LOL ... I have an image of Phil as the Godfather. Welcoming back player who tested FA with open arms.

But seriously, our back office organization is starting to look like a real professional football club. Wow, what a concept!

To paraphrase The Eagles lb he's "Already Gone". I'm having a hard time deciding who was the biggest waste of roster space last year and if it wasn't him he's very near the top. If we don't draft any OL I'm guessing at least Britton and Brown will be around.

He seemed to say earlier that he wanted Britton back but I suppose each good thing comes in it's own time and at his price which is probably at a vet minimum ($730k) or close to it with maybe a small signing bonus to pay his agent off. LOL

He made him a deal he couldn't refuse, rather than welcoming him back with open arms. It appears that James Brown will soon "sleep with the fishes" *shudder*

I think I'm beginning to understand the nuances of Phil-speak.

I am thrilled with this move. Britton offers versatility as he is good enough to start in spot duty, he can play 4 of the 5 positions effectively, is young and had great chemistry with the group (all back this year) in the meeting room, weight room and on the field. Plus he is cheap and knows the offense. My guess on the roster for next year is Bushrod, Slauson, Garza, Long, Mills, Britton, Boggs and one more with the battle between James Brown and Joe Long. My hope is that Kromer has had enough time to get Long ready.

A picture of Carimi in the background being welcomed with open arms (bound to a chair, gagged and bloodied a little) would complete the picture!

Too late. Gabe Carimi sleeps with the fishes........or is it the birds? Guess it all depends on whether it's mackerel wrapped in butcher paper or a crow.
