Guys, this is a much bigger blow to the team than I think a lot of folks here realize.

I realize Melton was still working his way back, after missing time due to injury. But we all knew what he could do once he was back to 100%. He was a Pro Bowl defensive tackle, and one of the top DL in the NFL.

Losing him this early in our season - for the year - is a huge loss. Sure, Collins, for an undrafted guy, is a decent player, even though his previous two teams let him go. Minter is a "project" UFA rookie who someday may be decent too.

But these guys are not Melton quality. Not an experienced Pro Bowl player like Melton. Not one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL.

He was also a guy not really doing much so far this year.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Bears bring in Marvin Austin. Deeply talented player who is still on the street. I know the Bears wanted him at one point and settled for Paea. Bring him in for a workout. Maybe we resurrect his career.

Oh, like Sedric Ellis? There is a reason he is on the street.

You mentioned Sedric Ellis, not me. So shut your hole.

Peppers and Woot should be rotated in at times, to help this situation. Shea better step up as his roll should increase

The real issue is our defense is not getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks when rushing only four. The majority of our sacks, hits & hurries have come with 5+ blitzing which is slowly exposing out secondary. Tucker might want to go back and watch which kind of stunts, counters and alignments that Marinelli was using.
