This guy is just going to get better and better. A 5th round rookie, he started 16 games, and showed a lot of talent (and some rough edges too). I think we've got a winner in Mills.

Here's the info on his broken foot bone. It doesn't sound serious at all & he is supposed to be able to practice in OTA's.

The metatarsals are the long bones of the feet. A fifth metatarsal fracture is a break in the foot bone that connects to the little toe. Fifth metatarsal fractures usually heal within 6 weeks. The goal of rehabilitation is to return you to your normal activities as soon as is safely possible.
You may start rehabilitation exercises when your provider has taken a follow-up X-ray and see that your fracture has healed. You may safely return to your normal activities when, starting from the top of the list and progressing to the end, each of the following is true:
    • You have full range of motion in the injured foot compared to the uninjured foot.
    • You have full strength of the injured foot compared to the uninjured foot.
    • You can walk straight ahead without pain or limping.

Mills would have been the best lineman on the 2011 team.

I hope he gets back in time to work out with the team starting at OTAs, but he does need to gets little stronger.

I know some publications lampooned him somewhat but SO much better than the turds we've had. Webb who? Carimi who? Long and Mills have an attitude and now have a year under their belt. We are a center away from a completely revitalized offensive line. I never grow tired of hearing that.

I think Millls had a good yr for a rookie. Still found it interesting when Forte gave Kudo's to the OL and named all but Mills. Making me think we need to find some competition in the draft. Not sure we can do it this yr with defense needs. Another yr of experience should tell us more. Hope he improves more and eliminates any discussion.

It wouldn't surprise me if we resign Britton & draft an OT on day 3 to compete against Mills , as well as be our swing OT. I actually thought Britton played better than Mills, but Mills was learning on the job, played pretty good for a 5th rd rookie & has a higher upside so we kept Mills on the field hoping he would improve as the season went along, which I think he did somewhat. Let's hope the foot injury doesn't prevent him from getting involved in the off season program. As others has said he needs to get stronger & probably work on his technique a bit as well but you really can't ask for much more from a 5th rd pick in his rookie year.

Don't forget the might have already found that competition w/Joe Long, might well re sign Britton also; AND that Kyle might get moved to T.

I'm excited with him. Overachieved and looks like a steal, should keep improving and look forward to watching him and long gain chemistry and progress
