    Per the Bears official twitter

LM: #Bears have re-signed TE Kyle Adams and terminated contract of vested veteran OT Jonathan Scott.

Huh, never thought I would see both Webb and Scott out this season. As for Kyle Adams much like Unga I have no idea if they think he's still a project or not.

Makes us a better team, IMO. I was a bit of an Adams hater at first, but I've come to appreciate his game from the limited PT he has gotten. Average moving TE, but how he gets there seems to be smart and precise. I like his routes and his blocking is very solid.

I guess this means they weren't all that confident that Scott was going to be 100% at any point this season.

Most likely his knee wasn't responding. Every time I read something about him it said they were draining fluid from the knee and that's not a very good sign as far as him healing from his surgery. Now all three OTs from last year are gone and I wonder now if Emery, Trestman and Kromer wish the weren't quite so cocksure about Webb becoming very good RT. I don't know that Carimi would have started but at the very least he'd have been competition. Ah well, Eben Britton is at least his equal so now I guess Emery needs to find a spare LT.

I agree with you regarding Scott's knee, soulman. I guess it turned out to be worse than everyone had hoped.

This may be more about not guaranteeing his $715k salary. If he is resigned next week, he's essentially playing on a week to week contract. That adds flexibility to our 53rd roster spot.

crazy, but I don't mind it. I didn't think Scott played better then Webb last year, but the team was high on him so whateve....as for Kyle Adams I think he's a better H-Back canidate then the guy we just traded for so while I don't think he's great I think it will be okay in a limited role.

Wow that leaves us thin at LT. Britton looked worse than Webb at LT.

I have not been keeping tabs on Webb, did he get signed elsewhere?

Edit- I see he signed with the Vikings.

Not that Scott was anything great but...where the heck are we going to get a backup LT now?

Looks like that backup is Britton. They always said they would play with 8 OL.

I agree. Scott seemed like a marginal player to me, even as a backup, and he's on the far side of 30 years old now. Britton has a lot of experience as a starter at both RT and LT, and he's only 25 years old. He is in his 5th season in the NFL so he's experienced, even though he's young. I figure he's a better swing option than Scott or Webb was. I'm not saying Britton is a great player. Just saying he's probably better than our other options were, for the backup swing guy.

I really liked what Britton said in this article. He seems like a guy willing to bust his butt.

I bet Scott will be back in few weeks. With the new TE not up to speed where Adams is at so they had to brought him back. So once Rosario is up to speed and Scott is fully recovered you'll probably see the switch. However, Marc T likes TE's so he may like having this many to do creative stuff so let's sit back and watch him have his fun.

doesn't really matter if Britton is the backup or Webb or Scott. We are screwed either way without Bushrod.

    Adams won't dress on gameday

Could it be about trading players to get more picks later? Said that's what he wants. Just saying.

Well, with as many players we have who are in their walk years this year, the more picks the Bears can get the better

I wouldn't be shocked either if Scott is back by the end of the season. My guess is they are doing for $$$$ purposes.
