I've seen other members post links to news articles and it is packaged in a preview with the ability to expand.

Like the first post in this thread ...

    http://www.dabears.com/threads/urlacher-applauds-bears-for-allen-deal.2297/

I've tried to figure to how to do it but cannot seem to get it to work.

    Any help is appreciated.

All you have to do it paste the link..

    Nothing further is required.

Paste/Post a link in here and let me see what it's doing..

We are talking about two different things. You are talking about the windows that ops when you move the mouse cursor over the URL. That works just fine.

If you view the first post on the thread included in my OP, you will see that there is a highlighted section in the post containing a link. It is color shaded just as a quoted reply is shaded. And at the bottom it has an expand link.

That is what I am trying to figure out.

Insert quote, in the same section of the tools as smilies, images, and media. Clicking the insert button brings up options for quote, spoiler, code, and strikethrough.
I'm not sure if that was clear at all. Good luck.

Thanks for trying to help JC.!

I tried pasting the url inside a quote block. All it did was put a hyperlink inside the quote (on the preview ... i did not post it). Is there something else?

You might need to copy and paste the text between the quote tags for the desired effect.
That's what I've been doing anyway. Like this:
Is that what you're looking for?
