Some of you are going to hate me for saying this; some will think I'm a curmudgeon, and some will think I have no sense of humor, but I hate the whole "Save the Ta-Ta's" slogan. Geez, can't we come up with a more tactful slogan to promote awareness for a life threatening illness that kills or maims the women we love. Maybe I'm a little to close, but it just seems like the whole awareness campaign makes light of the very service it is trying to perform.

That said, I am not always in the majority when it comes to cultural opinion. I do not intend to have a lengthy discussion about this, I just thought I would share an opinion and perhaps provide some food for thought.

It's better then the save the t-bag month the guy's get 4d....oh wait they don't have any for the guys; at least not at the awareness it deserves.

Not to mention that it's not "save the ta-ta's" month on any official, anything; I'd see your point if somehow anyone took that term as anything other then jest, but the vast majority of the slogans and money raised and the awareness brought up is serious; having a few small jestfull ones is not just nice, I think it's necesary to keep people from hating it.

As for the to close comment, sorry for you and the loved one/s that are going through it, all cancer, breast testiclular or otherwise is devestating. My Aunt died from it, but it took years, treatments, remission, finding some again, treatments resession, finding some again etc etc; until finding it the last time was to late and there was no treatment.

For the public forum, it's about as good as it gets :)

No, we don't hate you. I agree with you that the slogan is stupid. and dumb. and tactless. My mother and several very close friends have suffered through this disease and it truly is devastating. I think anything that brings attention to it is a good thing. I just wish there was more programs like this for men. We get health issues as well, and the only thing you really see on TV is Smilin' Bob.

I've found that humor is the best medicine. So that's what I go with.

I think it great the NFL is promoting this awareness...however, I think devoting an entire month is excessive and invites lampooning and even a slight negative reaction...by the end of the month, I am sure I am going to sick and tired of all this pink, just like I was last year...for one weekend, by all means, go all in...jerseys, helmets, the whole nine yards......

that was kind of my point Jimmors, and that's why it's nice to have a lighter take on it, like Save the Ta-Tas, to much is often a negative not a positive w/out a little levity.

No, no Benji, I am certainly not offended and I'm not suggesting you did anything wrong by posting it, I don't mean to imply that at all. I just think the flippant approach to this "ad campaign" (for lack of a better term) is crass. You see it everywhere, so if I, or anyone else is offended by it, we would be offended in many places. I really didn't mean to make any kind of big deal about it, so please don't feel inclined at all to take it down. Just sharing my thoughts.
