Which is WHY YOU DON'T keep the same plays after a regime change! Expect the same thing when we play Dallas b/c Rod is there. He'll know ALL their plays. You have to change things up. Hell ya Izzy was feeding them their playbook, it's one of the reasons you bring in guys that played for other div teams. Guarantee you Minny was thinking the same thing when they brought in Webb. I would expect the Bears to do the same thing if they were able.

It wouldn't surprise me, given the Bears kept the same scheme after Lovie's crew was jettisoned.

    "
Chicago Bears players say former teammate Israel Idonije was feeding Detroit Lions their defensive calls
    "

No excuses. If we hadn't thought about that beforehand, we are stoooopid.

Our DL has no pass rush. Izzy was not on the other two teams we played where we had no pass rush either. As far as defensive calls where they shredded our running game, yeah maybe. But I put it doen to bad execution. They opened up lanes and he ran. Is it easier to open up lanes knowing what we will do? sure. But once he got past the line, we still should have stopped them.

It played a factor (probably). But it did not lose us the game. I still think our QB did most ofd that.

Izzy has a whopping 3 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 tfl, 0 pd's, 0 stuffs, 0 FF's, 0 FR's, 0 int's...ya he would have been huge for us right?!?!?!? Same people bitching about the team not keeping him would be complaining about how they signed a guy that was over the hill and hasn't done anything.

Wootton the guy that replaced him had 3 tackles today, has a fumble recover, has 2 stuffs, 5 tackles 3 solo has a sack also.

Shea, the guy backing up Wootton instead of izzy has 6 tckls, 2 stuffs and a 1/2 sack. Shea, the guy most are calling a bust and is a backup, is outplaying Izzy who's starting for Det. Ya we should've kept him.....:10_4_1[1]:

at the very least, had he been retained, "Izzy feeding the calls" wouldn't be used as an excuse for getting tossed around the field & lit-up.

Regardless of whether Izzy was feeding them the calls or not, he didn't make the defense forget how to tackle. Way too often the D misses out on a sure stop in hopes of committing a turnover and that's something that needs to be fixed real soon.

Hoth, true but it happens to everyone. Did the team honestly not know; like they've never brought in a guy from another team and pegged them for info? It's a poor excuse to not try and hide your plays a little when facing a former teammate, and again wait until Dallas, Rod is going to know everything they are trying to do and you can bank he'll let Big D know about it.

Definitely going to have to change the calls/looks vs Dallas and in the 2nd game vs Detroit.

Trucker has been a disapointment so hard. Hopefully he will come up with some creative plays against Lions and Dallas. It would be TOO easy for Rod if he didn't.. Cutler would really need to have a heck of a game if we are gonna win that one.

I really, REALLY hope that the fans and the defense don't use this BS as a "crutch" to rationalize yet another bad defensive performance. God Help Us if the defensive players are thinking, "hey, it wasn't our fault that Reggie Bush gashed us repeatedly yesterday. We're still a good defense. It was just that damn Izzy giving them our play calls." Yet another excuse. Wonder what the excuse is going to be this week when Brees torches us. Maybe blame the soggy field conditions again? Perhaps, Peppers stubs his toe walking out of the tunnel?

+1 Good post Ric. We simply haven't lost much by not resigning Izzy.

BINGO! That's the real problem. My DOG could have tackled better than the Bears D did yesterday.
