Merely a flesh wound.
Not gonna lie; getting a little concerned.
Let him heal. But not sure he really will be able to. It may linger all season.
I'm glad they're not pushing him on this. Better to let him heal up 100%. It's a long season. I'd rather have him miss some time, and have the foot healed right, than to have him struggling all year.
1-If he is still hurting (which he obviously is), he should sit. I think we would all agree on that.
2-THIS IS NOT GOOD. He had the surgery, sat/rested for a LONG time before he was permitted to come back, we were told that he was A-OK and "completely recovered" and now.....this. As fans, we have every right to be concerned about Mr. Mills and his aching foot.
3-The elephant in the room is that Mills actually NEEDED as many reps as possible this preseason. He isn't a 9 year, ALL-Pro veteran. He is a 2nd year player, who had a "good/decent" year as a rookie, but he also was the weakest link on the line last year. In other words, he still has a lot of work to do to become the player we are all hoping to see at some point in his career. Training camp and preseason game reps are pretty important for any 2nd year player who still has a lot of work to do on his game, ESPECIALLY if said player has not done much of anything for the past year due to an injury. I am very disappointed that his foot is obviously still giving him problems, in spite of the surgery and the extended post-op rest/recovery. EVEN if he is cleared to start in Week 1, I don't think any of us can say that we are confident in how he will actually perform this season. Dude needed all the work he could get this preseason to get back in the groove of things, and that ain't happening. :(
Lets rest Mills but who are the backups?
at this point, it would appear as if you and HenryBurris are the backups. So, CHOP CHOP boys!!!! Get your arses to training camp, posthaste!
This is what you have to deal with being a BEARS fan on this board.
Its there .. its always overexposed ... and attack mode.
Which contributes nothing. What did we learn from this post ?
I don't like to see anyone get hurt on the Bears. But if you are going to make me pick 1 on the O line it would be Mills. This gives us a possibility of letting a veteran O-linemen take his place and possibly out play him at his own position. That would suck for him but not for the Bears. He was the weakest on the line last year and like others stated him missing time hurts him more because he needs the reps. Next man up and at his position so I'm not as distraught about this as if had been other key players on that line.
^^^We "learned", lil' Jokeman, that you and Henry had better start gulping down protein shakes and hitting the weights ASAP. If you guys don't start bulking up, your arses are gonna be grass once Trestman and Kromer are forced to insert you two ding-a-lings at RT and RG, respectively! So put down the Smartphone and pick up a pair of 125 lb. dumbbells! 3 sets of 6-10 reps.....let's GO!!!
Wait wait wait. YOU, sir, cannot cast any stones...for your house is made of paper thin glass. You constantly violate the rules of the site, common sense, and conversation in general.
It was a joke. Laugh or don't, but don't think it was anything else.
^^^^"Others" my patoot! ;_ ( I was the first person to voice that opinion! I had it first on Twitter (a la Rick Reilly)! Where are my kudos?!!! I want my kudos...: _ (
Two things concern me about Mill's injury.
One, the term Lis Franc.
Two, his backup, Britton, is also injured with another lingering type injury (hammy).
That's for you:18 1 205:...by the way have you seen the new Brad Muster on the Bears?
I'm going say no way on the Lis Franc injury that would require more surgery. It's just some soreness from the huge 6.5mm cortical screw down the shaft of the fifth met. Especially when he's trying to get some substantial push-off when he's trying to take on Lamarr.
The finest Halas Hall orthopedic surgeons are feverishly working to get Mills foot fixed.
These look like the same jokers that put Abby Normal's brain in Webb's head. No thanks.
Looks like Webb DID donate his feet. Mills will be good in no time. Hopefully Webbs feet move around faster when they are located on Mills ankles.
At least Mills can tie shoes. Poor J'Marcus had troubles with that.
And I do too. Mills had recovered well enough to take part in the OTAs and mini-camp where they installed more of the offense so he got what he need mentally from that and from going through the motions. Yeah he's missing some of the physical part and the reps that make the line more cohesive but remember Long has been out as well so even if Mills had 100% healthy without Mills they still aren't getting that second part done.
Based in all we've heard it's just sore, not reinjured. It's preseason so let it heal and if nothing else that allows more snaps for the guys competing for the backup spots which mean we get a better idea of whose best there plus they get game time work now they won't get later on. It's almost as blessing in disguise that he his missing some time now and not later on.
