I just wanted to remind anyone hoping to get single-game tickets that they will go on sale today through Ticketmaster at 11AM. They usually sell out in a few minutes so you'll want to be signed in to Ticketmaster and ready to roll at 11. Good luck (wish me luck too.....I'm trying to land a few myself).

Yep, that's where I'll be or at a local watering hole full of Bears faithful. I could buy drink for our table all game long and still not spend $350.

I wasn't able to get tickets yesterday. Ticketmaster was flooded immediately and the tickets that I could afford (the cheaper seats) were gone in a heartbeat. Some years we get tix and some years are like this one, and I can't get them. Some of those Bears seats go for over $5,000 a seat. But if you get lucky, there are decent seats in the $120 to $150 range.......but you gotta get lucky to land them. The Bears fan base is so loyal that the seasons sell out no matter what.

The improving Bears have been noticed by the financial press. The following article goes into the increased demand for Bears tickets (and a huge increase in after market ticket prices).

It's shame that an outfit like Ticketmaster is even eligible to buy them. They're so limited to begin with that it's the fans who should be given first shot for at least 24-48 hours and then if there's any unsold sell them to the ticket brokers. I hate the fact that we have to go through outfits like Ticketmaster for stuff that would easily sell out without them.

They're like the Mafia always getting a piece of the action on virtually any event ticket sold in this country. Talk about a friggin' monopoly.
