Just a thought, BUT....if, while Jay is out, the offense looks like it did

So, to you, in the game McCown played against Green Bay, he did not play like a professional. He played to lose the game. Everyone else was trying to win, but McCown wasn't trying to win. Got it.

Winning effort, not wins. We are on the same page now.

    Garbage!!!

But, your assertion is false. He was talented enough to beat the Redskins, but our Defense screwed the pooch. Stop hating on the kid, he stepped into an impossible situation, and played better than anyone could have expected. In fact, his Passer Rating was 119.6, good enough for 6th overall this week. (better than rodgers, luck, stafford and peyton). Thats not a "garbage" QB.

He might not be a bonafide starter, but he is far from "garbage."

Complete more then 50% of your passes, don't have as many TO's as TD's, you know the opposite of McCowns career.

Let's see what he does when a team actually game plans for him. A game where he does not catch a team by surprise. The skins were not ready for his skill set, for lack of a better term.

So your counter is that he is a "garbage QB" and only did well because he caught the Redskins "by surprise?" really? Is that your story you are sticking with?

Jesus H. bleeding Christ. Is there a single fanbase that roots harder against its own players than the Bears? Seriously. SERIOUSLY.

    1. As previously stated, WAS didn't have film on McCown. They are also a pretty awful defense (see: yesterday's 41 points allowed). Currently they're #24 in total yards allowed, just one tick above the Bears at #25. McCown had a pretty darn good day and made only one really bad play (hint: the last one). Our future opponents have 1+ halves of game film to study and will be ready.

    2. Cutler has made lots of stupid mistakes, gets easily rattled at times, has bad games, gets injured. So by all means, let's throw the baby out with the bathwater and just plug Joe X. Random into the QB spot, since this SYSTEM is foolproof!!!!!!!!!!!11111

... oh. wait. Except that if the offense Trestman's running is foolproof, wouldn't everyone use it? Hmmmmmmm. Deep thoughts.

    What he said.

Yup. A bad QB who took advantage of another bad defense who was not prepared for whatever McCown had.

And what exactly did he "have" that they weren't prepared for? Do enlighten us.

He has a different skill set than Cutler. Different tendencies, a different approach. They are two completely different QBs

He had "Trestmans playcalling", and b/c JC has been audibling out of 40% of the plays, no team had much actual film on :D
