Just a thought, BUT....if, while Jay is out, the offense looks like it did

Nope. Not letting you off that easy. Specifics. Lets hear it. I want to know what these things that McCown had that caught Washington by surprise.

Not sure how much more I can say here. It is fairly obvious that teams game plan for a specific QB, based on what they can and cannot do. We have seen both QBs play long enough to know what each can and cannot do, and how they differ.

Ah yes, no specifics, so reverting back to a blanket generalization. Cool

Its all good everyone..McCown is garbage, Benji says so, and has the feelings to back it up.

career 58 comp %, more int's then TD's, not to mention fumbles, and a meger 6.x(don't feel like looking it up) ypc. He's not good b/c his history in the NFL says he's not good. Sorry you disagree.

Does that mean he's incapble of pulling something out of his backside, like yesterday, no. Do I expect teams that are actually gameplanning for him instead of Cutler to allow him to duplicate those games, no. If you do, sorry for your luck.

Im not saying he is "good," i just dont agree that he is "garbage" either. And im definitely not buying this "but they dont have tape on him!!" claim that everyone thinks is sooooo important.

I believe giving credit where credit is due, and McCown deserves it for how he played yesterday. What he DOESNT deserve, are these lame attempts to try and downplay what he did, based on nothing but generalizations, stats from previous games, and "gut feelings." I gave Benji a chance, or anyone else for that matter, do defend their opinions using objective statistics, and i got nothing. If you can't justify your opinion, then there is no reason to take it seriously.

I don't buy into the they don't have tape on him, I do buy that they didn't bother watching it b/c they were preparing for Cutler.

You watched last game, It was far from clean for McCown, when he had to wind up and throw downfield there were as many ducks and spirals. He also doesn't have the arm strength to get off the mid field hail mary in the final minutes w/out a huge open pocket and a few steps into the throw.

He threw 1 whopping TD. He moved the ball better then Cutler did yep no doubt. He also ran the plays Trestman wanted, and didn't audible out. But lets not act like he was Brady out there, that Wash D is worse then the Bears D statistically speaking, anyone SHOULD move the ball on them, and the fact that Cutler didn't is more an inditement on Cutler then a compliment to McCown.

Until McCown shows up w/multiple performances like this, it's an anomaly then anything b/c his career says it's one. Unless you want to believe that Brandon Jacobs is still capable of putting up 100 yard games, then you'll understand how history matters.

They had tape on him. Every team has tape on him. They just did not prepare or practice for him.

Again...i think you are giving too much credit to this "tape watching" situation. Yes, it is an important part of game planning, but it is not an excuse to dismiss good QB play. (which is how you guys are using this particular issue...to dismiss McCown's performance). If that were the case, and it was so easy to succeed in the NFL by simply having "no tape," then they would replace their QBs every single week.

Just drove home from work, and I thought about this matter along the way. I have proof, incontrovertible proof, that McCown is not "Hot Garbage". Who wants to hear it?
