Does not sound good, especially for a guy who relies on his speed and agility on the ice....huge bummer Hawks lose leading goal scorer.
Time to rush the 19 year old Fin.

As long as he is back for the playoffs we are fine.

Freak accident and I'm glad the Hawks had FEW this season. They need to get their act together soon and get on a roll for the playoffs.
BTW Billie did you see my response in the other thread?
    ;)

Yes I did....I didn't want to get too off topic too many times in one topic. Crazy fog, it can get pretty thing in the midwest...makes for dangerous driving.
My family used to go up to N. WI - west of Minocqua just a stones throw from Chippewa to go walleye fishing.

You sound like you've got a bit of experience so I don't have to tell you how tricky it can be to catch walleye (well at least for the common man).
So I'm out with my pops (maybe my proudest sporting moment) and I'm using an ultralight Ugly Stick and a reel I borrowed from a buddy with 8 lb. test, a hook and a leach (of course no steel leader cause the walleye won't touch it) and bam I hooked something big. It hit aggressively not like a walleye. It took me at least half an hour to get it up to the boat and my dad with a brand new dip net pulls it up and over the side and just as he does, it bites right through the net and was flopping around the boat. Not experienced with a sharp large toothed fish it was pretty damn exciting (I didn't even know how the hell to hold it for the pics). It was 36.5" so I made the legal limit and the big board that summer. Got it back in the water and worked it's gills til it was ready to fight another day. It was a very intense 30 minutes or more of opening the bale and letting it run....I got really lucky I hooked it in the corner of the mouth or it's teeth would have done me in for sure.
I don't know how many times we have been up there and fished (a week long summer excursion) for walleye, once in a while a muskie will grab our line and pretty much snap before we can get it close. Fishing for walleye we end up catching our share of perch and many times when puling one in a muskie will snatch it or pull in half a perch. None of us had ever pulled a muskie in before that. In my excitement, everyone on the lake that day was aware I had...good fun!

In reality Bill MORE Muskies are caught while fishing for other species such as Walleye, Bass etc. Bass top the list as the techniques are very similar.
Let me know if you plan to come up and we'll wet a line or two. ;-)

It's definitely a thread to bury and forget about! To Kaner making a quick, full, healthy recovery :13_4_9[1]:

It's a LONG time before even the draft so talking fishing is a common ground with quite a few of us here. Open water just can't come soon enough and we got another 6" of snow yesterday. Stuck inside with "Cabin Fever" LOL
