He just switched to the winning side, our new S from Packers!
Just saw it as well.
LM: #Bears have agreed to terms with safety M.D. Jennings on 1-year contract. Jennings started all 16 games for Packers last year.
Have to love this. Screw the Fudgepackers !
wright and conte are gone.
I consider him a big MEH!!! I would rather we try and sign Mike Neal.
But, our S corps will def. NOT be much improved
As far as I know the Packers' secondary was better bad last year, and this guy was pretty bad as well (at least that is what my Packers friends tells me) :/
At least Emery acknowledges there is a problem with our safties.
more depth, from the tweets, most are saying this guy is every bit as "good" as Wright and Conte
M.D. Jennings | Defensive Back

3/12/2014: Signed a one-year contract.
Bears agreed to terms with S M.D. Jennings, formerly of the Packers, on a one-year contract.
Jennings was a 16-game starter for the Pack last season, but not an effective one, struggling mightily in coverage. The Bears have one of the league's weakest collection of safeties, however, so Jennings will definitely be in the mix to start. The Bears shouldn't be done adding bodies to the back line of their defense. Mar 12 - 1:32 PM
The only way this works out with crap safeties is to have a really good front 7 getting pressure on almost every down and 2 really good corners. Other than that the last 2 have to be competition to light whatever fire they can under Conte's and "I'm going to barf" Wright's butts.
I think they've been "gone" since they arrived here :)
One a serious note, maybe Conte would be an okay backup since he's already under contract.
Michael C. Wright @mikecwright15 mins
Packers didn't tender Jennings, an RFA, who started every game for them last season.
Meh...and guys...Wright is gone...his contract is up and he's not being brought back, so this won't light any fire under his butt. I'll take Conte over this guy.
Here's a novel thought. Why not get a couple of safeties that are, you know, good. Guys who are solid football players. This guy sounds like just another rotten safety. We've had a small army of them come to Halas Hall over recent years. What is it with the Bears and the constant flow of rotten safeties? I don't get it.
OK my bad, I just hope we improve the corners and front 7 enough to make up for this hot garbage.
JABF, no one wants to listen, but they are going to do that, but it's going to be in the draft, and very early.
Emery is already on record as saying that Conte will be able to compete for a starting safety spot in 2014.
With that said, if he can't hack it in camp/preseason I imagine that he'll get cut. He is due to make $1.6 million this year.
Ric, I hope you are right. But the only safety I see worth it in the 1st round is Dix from Alabama. Were you alluding to him?
Him or Pryor are both HUGE upgrades to the back 7, and you can get DL'men that can fit into rotaions in the 2nd-4th.
Jimmy Ward and Deone Buchanon are strong Safeties that can be had in the 2nd round or later.
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is a first round free safety. Calvin Pryor at free safety can also be had in the late 1st or early 2nd round.
I think that Emery is tipping his hand as to what he's going to do draft wise. All of us were speculating that he was going to draft a defensive lineman in the 1st round but I'm not so sure anymore.
All of these Safeties he's acquiring in Mundy, Jennings, and even Derrick Martin are all depth moves. I think this is proof that he's drafting a solid cornerback or a Safety in the 1st round.
