M.Bennett was a really good pickup for the Bears. Sounds like he AND his parents want the two brothers playing here.

I would like to see it happen, but, unfortunately, he doesn't want to play in cold weather.

I don't think it will happen either, but it's cool that Martellus is trying. He must really like it here in Chicago.

As crazy as this may sound, I would rather play in 5 below with a 30 below wind chill than cold rain. Talk about misery!

Money has a tendency to make you forget about the weather outside.

If theres going to be a dynasty in Chicago ... it wil be the Bennett brothers.

First of all ... we need a playmaker at defense.

Not saying that it can be done ... but should it be done ?

    What is the upside ?

    Performance.

I would love to add him to the team, but again you have the problem that he is 29. He could be a great stopgap, but we need some home grown talent!!

Colder than Miami, but definitely nowhere near Chicago temps. I live near Seattle. Rarely get down to freezing for long.

I dunno, He is older, a 5 yr deal he will be like Peppers potentially, and he played on the best defense and had 8 or 8.5 sacks. I am not sold on him as the answer maybe a stop gap and he definetely is better than we have but think drafting a DE is a better long term solution. If we want to spend big money on DE lets dream big and go for Hardy. He is 26 I believe, and could give us 5 good yrs.

I would love to have Hardy, but if he does make it into FA, he will be WAY overpaid. He could make a great addition to the team, but he would destroy the cap for the coming years.

True dat. SEE : Nnamdi Asomugha. A total shutdown CB moved from Oakland to Philly and never recovered.

Hired by Frisco and cut by Frisco. Now retired.

Sounds like Wilber Marshall on the wrong teams again.

Bennett would be a guy that could still be productive in his early 30s. 4-5 Year deal wouldn't be the end of the world. He's good against the run, we have the need. He's a complete player, just not the best at his positon. Good at everything, great at nothing

Judging from the comments on this board ... nobody was overwhelmed by the output of DT's in the senior bowl.

Hardy will most likely be franchised or cost a ton in free agency. Bennett is older, but he only played 57% of Seattles defensive snaps(which is the most on the team by the way), so he was part of a rotation. If you look at that, the 9 sacks looks pretty good. Peppers had that and he played 85% of our defensive snaps. Is he Peppers? No...but I think he'll come cheaper and should be able to produce double digit sacks with more snaps.

In what ever way shape or form ... BEARS DEFENSE has to be addressed.

Or should we say LACK of BEARS DEFENSE ?
