You mean by someone other than people guessing who is going to get picked?

I may immensely dislike Goodell but I sure am looking forward to him finally saying "With the first pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select."

yeah, me too. The offseason speculation, mock drafts, and philosophy debates are fun and all but I'm ready for some real news, real excitement. That way instead of guessing who will be drafted we can guess how well they will do. :bah:

If Bridgewater fell even in the 2nd round, I'd have to strongly consider drafting him, but probably go with a S instead.

I'd really like to see the top half of our draft to be immensely heavy on defense, if not strictly focused on defense. I also must note that I'm no draft expert, not even compared to some of these guys doing it from their couches. That said, if Bridgewater is sitting there in the second for us and Phil took him, I don't think I'd be upset. From what I remember of watching him the guy can ball and to be able to sit behind Cutty for 3 years or something would be invaluable. Trest could mold him and fix up anything while Cutler is out there doing what he does and when we cut our ties with Cutler we have, what I imagine, a great quarterback ready to go.

But, I really can't imagine a scenario where he's sitting there at our designated pick. Someone would have to trade up to snag him.. right?

If you want a mid-round QB to develop, Mettenberger and Tom Savage are both good options.

LB, if Bridgewater were there at the same time as those, you'd pass over him? Hell, my secret wish is Manziel has a big fall and the Bears would grab him (or the Jets)

Yeah me too. gets him a chance to earn what is is like 10 mil a year? I would have made the announcement for only $750,000. (If pressed maybe $500,000 and a steak dinner -- fancly like with the curly fries and all!)
