Looking to get his career back on track after it was derailed by injuries, Bears tight end Zach Miller took a major stride in that direction in Friday night’s preseason opener.

He looked awfully quick AND fast out there. Having sure hands is an important bonus.

Both TD catches were outstanding . Way above average .

I was really impressed with the TD pass from Cutler. He really sold the LB in coverage on going right to the end line and just turned to his back shoulder at the last minute. Never looked over his shoulder or gave the LB any hint as to what was going to happen. A really solid play!

It seems this guy has always had potential but couldn't stay healthy. Let's hope his jinx has broken because we can use another tall target and he's big enough and quick enough to replace Wilson in the slot for now. Then we'll have two TEs on the field together who can both catch the football. He was impressive.

I was impressed with Miller, who was clearly the best TE showcasing a lot of talent. But I was also surprised by Dante Rosario. He's definitely improved his game. We have TWO guys in Miller & Rosario who can be solid TE's.

I'm really puzzled that people are so astounded by Rosario catching some balls. He's had over 100 receptions in his career so it's not like he was never used as a target before. He's a little on the small side for a TE but Des Clark wasn't much bigger than him and Des was one of the most dependable TEs we've had.

I think as much as anything we've improved the way we incorporate the TEs into the offense. Last year it was Marshall who would have been running that route Miller caught for his first TD and this year Marshall was runnin a drag route in front of Miller and freezing the Safety off the coverage long enough to open a window for Cutler to throw into and Miller did an exceptional job of selling the catch at the end to. The guy can play.

That's a great point that I hadn't thought about. Clark was rock solid for us, for a number of years. He did everything pretty well. Rosario is about Clark's size (a bit taller but only a bit). If Rosario can be THAT kind of TE for us I'd be thrilled. I loved watching Des play.

I also have a hard time believing his listed weight of under 240. Dude is yoked.

Yeah and I wonder how accurate that is since they still have Houston listed at 300lbs not 275lbs and Lynch at 220lbs when he's claimed he's down to around 205lbs now to gain more speed. Miller is listed at 236lbs but he looks at lot closer to 250lbs to me.
